Monta was a great guide and was well prepared to create a unique experience based on our interests. Yes you can walk Tokyo by yourself but there is a lot you’d miss and Monta made sure we didn’t miss anything on our day. He was kind and a safe person to be with and clearly loves this city.

Walking tour through Tokyo with 5 people all different ages but our guide was able to keep it interesting for everyone

This was our first tour after arriving in Japan the evening before. Kyoko was kind enough to meet us in our hotel lobby, saving us from trying to learn and navigate the metro system while still somewhat jet-lagged. In four hours se walked a total of about 5 miles and travelled many more on the metro. We toured the Shibuya Crossing area and Asakusa, visiting shrines, stores, temples, pagodas, and markets. Kyoko was a great guide, graciously answering our many questions. She took time to help us understand local customs and religious practices, like the ritual cleansing with water before entering a temple. The walk through the gardens in Ueno Park was not only a good glimpse into the history of the Shogun warriors, but a peaceful end to our tour.

We had the best tour guide with Luigi. We felt so lucky to have been placed with him. He went out of his way to customize our experience while allowing us to feel flexible to stop and eat and shop. He had a wonderful way of showing us all the highlights while missing the crowds and finding the best picture spots. Ending on the tanuki street was awesome! Highly recommend as a great way to be introduced to Tokyo.

Toshi is the best! So knowledgeable, friendly, and showed us things we would have never seen had we planned the day ourselves. I just put topics of interest like “culture, food, non touristy things” and he hand picked an unforgettable day. As a bonus, he stayed for extra time so that we could explore his local neighborhood which was having their annual shrine festival. He helped us with ordering food, navigating the things to do, and showed us places locals go to pray/give thanks. We will miss him as much as we will miss this beautiful country!!
