Great experience
I had a really great time. The hike was definetly worth it with great views. It was well organised and sergio our guide was fantastic with a great sense of humor. He made sure we had the time to catch our breath and take some pictures and to ensure eveybody was accounted for. Overall i would recommend it!

In good weather, the hike is an experience.
We had great weather, which made the hike a wonderful experience with marvelous views. Under these circumstances, we can really highly recommend this hike. We hike very often and found this hiking trail to be something very special. Since we are already over 60 years old, we booked a group. Because of the booking, we did not have to worry about anything, entrance tickets included. That was perfect because in good weather, the crowd on-site is enormous and very chaotic. Lots of groups and people. Unfortunately, our group was much too large and disorganized; the guides accepted this challenge well and made the best of it. Once we were on the "one way" path, the situation relaxed and everyone could walk at their own pace. The first long break was not until the hut not far from the Pico Ruivo summit, which we did not like, however. There would have been a nicer spot with a view beforehand. In any case, no restroom was offered at the hut and the service was not that great either. PS: For the ascent to the hut and then another 500 m in altitude to the summit, you need good physical condition; the ascent is in a very sunny location. Good flashlights are helpful for the longer tunnels. The overall management: info, pickup, etc., is very good and reliable.

Amazing experience!
It was super organized & everyone involved was amazing !! The driver was so friendly & being picked up at the hotel was super convenient. The hike itself was absolutely amazing, no bad view is the whole way!!

Superb walk pick up and drop of , scenery is fantastic all round and is a must do for fit walkers the no 1 walk in Madeira, recently re opened after landslides forced closure , very popular so book early

Brilliant!
What a day! I would not say I am the fittest person but I done this and would consider my self out of shape! 11km of steep down hill and up hill(last section). But done it nevertheless. The guide (sorry forgot his name) was on the Sunday walk was excellent and a credit to this company. I would highly recommend this walk, take some walking boots as it does get a bit wet and muddy in the tunnel sections. Best thing I done in Madeira by a long shot with added bonus of clear weather! Enjoy!!!
