角石は1900年にカルロス1世によって元修道院S.ベントデアベマリア（サンベネディクトオブヘイルメアリー）の場所で発表されました。最初のプロジェクトは、建築家マルケスダシルバによって設計され、その外部ラインは当時のフランスの影響を示しています。
1921年12月17日に、エリートカフェと呼ばれる施設がポルトで営業を開始しました。 ショッピングや社会の最高の人々のための歩行者通路であるサンタカタリーナ通りにありました。カフェは、建築家のジョアン・ケイロスによるアールヌーボー様式の装飾で通りを照らしました。

We had an incredible day on this tour. The day was broken up into manageable chunks of driving. We were never in the car for too long. Our tour guide, Phillip, was knowledgeable and handled the group dynamic with ease. Would absolutely book again!
We did a day tour with Anabela as our guide, and she was marvelous. Anabela speaks many languages and she takes her time explaining the history of all the areas we visited, learning the history offered a different appreciation rather than just seeing a pretty sight. We did a tour of Porto including the train station, the church, and included was a port wine tasting.
