Our guide was fantastic, as an archaeologist who has worked at the site and a native Pompeiian she is a the perfect person for this adventure. Her love of history and Pompeii were reflected in her information. She made sure to include our 9 and 11 year old grandsons in discussions which was made us appreciate her even more.

What can I say, brilliant day! We were met at the train station, taken to the train, when we arrived in Naples just a little over an hour later, our guide was waiting for us, a short coach ride to Pompeii, our guide took us around, was extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. After our tour we had a lovely 3 course lunch in a lovely restaurant before another coach ride to Herculaneum, again our guide was brilliant, full of knowledge etc. At the end of the tour, coach back to the station, where we broaded our train back to Rome. So pleased I booked this tour, would highly recommend. Thank you, we loved it as a family and thought it was well worth the money 🥰

This was the best tour we went on during my 2 week Europe trip. The instructions were easy to follow and the tour guides were easy to find. Everything was taken care of and we just got to sit back and enjoy! Our tour guide was amazing and we learned so much. She showed us as much as possible in the time we had. Lunch was amazing and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this tour. Pompeii and Herculaneum were the most fascinating places we visited.

Wow!!! This tour is incredible!! We did day trip from Rome to Pompeii & Herculaneum by train. Pompeii was amazing, lunch was delicious and very filling, and Herculaneum is NOT TO BE MISSED…a true gem of preserved ancient history, even more so than Pompeii. Paula was a spectacular guide!!!

I didn’t realize how big Pompeii was, will definitely do again on our trip. Love how Italia Tours made sure we got on the right train in Rome and Naples. Great adventure!

Great tour exploring these amazing sites.

Our tour guide Antonio was a Pompeii legend. He was friendly and shared many interesting facts about all things Pompeii and Herculaneum. The lunch included was also fantastic and a great way to separate the two sites.

This was an amazing day! It was planned very well - train (relatively short and comfortable- easy to navigate with their instructions), nice short car rides - with local professional driver who was a joy - very knowledgeable tour guide (Ida) who let us make the trip our own. My parents are older and slow. Ida found shade for them and led us to the main sites at their pace. The lunch was also very good!! We were back in Rome in time to freshen up and have a later dinner! Long (and hot) day (make sure to bring water and a hat/sunscreen and wear comfortable clothes and shoes), but so worth it!

This tour was the highlight of our three-weeks travel in France & Italy. It was well-organised; logistical instructions were clear; and we were greeted on-time by Italia tours at both Rome Termini & Napoli train stations. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with the many questions asked by our inquisitive group. The ‘pizza lunch’ was top quality food with some choices from the menu available to us. It was a 12-hour day but absolutely worth it!

This tour was so well organized from beginning to end. We had received an email with a photo showing the exact spot we were to meet up with a tour representative at Roma Termini to begin our day. She made sure all participants were accounted for and then escorted us to the appropriate train. We had also received an email with a photo showing the exact spot we were to meet up with our tour guide upon arrival in Naples. There we met Rose who would be our guide for the day. From the train station, we were transported by a dedicated small bus to Pompeii to begin our tour. I was so impressed with Rose's knowledge of the various types of structures we saw and of the events that took place on that fateful day. At the conclusion of our Pompeii tour, we had a wonderful lunch at a restaurant right near the entrance. The menu included our choice of starters, entree, desert, and drink. From there we boarded our bus and headed to Herculaneum. Rose explained to us in detail the differences between the two cities - the sizes of the homes, the infrastructure, and the wealth of the residents of Herculaneum. Throughout, Rose patiently answered our questions and was very mindful of the group's needs with timely rest and bathroom breaks. At the conclusion of our tour, we boarded our bus and headed back to the Naples train station. There we were guided to the appropriate train for our trip back to Rome. It couldn't have been a more perfect day!
