ペナンの田舎バリク・プラウ半日ツアー

What a fantastic half day tour. One of the best experiences we had and we’ve done quite a number over the years, all over the world. This is in no small part due to our amazing driver/guide, Jenny. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and ever helpful and forthcoming with suggestions and recommendations. She is a Penang local so is a wealth of knowledge but doesn’t try to overwhelm you with every pedantic detail, although if you’d like to know more she’s happy to explain further or provide further background . Her English is excellent. Balik Pulau itself was a hidden gem. Lovely to visit and experience more of the local village life and visit a few sunset industries of the area. All in all, a wonderful, enjoyable, insightful tour that we highly recommend to all!

We had James as our guide and he was exceptional. For reference, we like to go on at least one local tour when visiting a new place. My husband and I spent a week in George Town and on our 6th day we decided to do the countryside tour and are so happy we did. Had we skipped the tour we would have not gotten a full picture of life on Penang island. We saw small fishing villages, ate amazing, delicious local food like Lakso, and ate a flavorful scone (and I usually dislike scones). Our guide, James was flexible and professional, but my favorite attribute was his deadpan humor—example: did you bring your passport? We are now in Venice when viewing small village houses on the river! He’s a real sweetheart, and very fun. You will be in great hands with James as your guide. Don’t skip this tour, it was money well spent.

Jenny took my husband, toddler and I for the tour. She gave us very interesting local insight into the area and was very knowledgeable with the history. We had a delicious breakfast and lunch at local coffee shop and hawker stalls. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend the tour to anyone visiting Penang!

We had Mr Lim take us on this wonderful excursion. He is very enthusiastic and full of great commentary. We learnt alot of history and interesting facts. Food stops were local traders and great ffood. Well worth doing this tour.

We had a wonderful day with LimTS, he was a wealth of knowledge and explained so much to us. He took us to some different places that he knew we were interested in and we were thrilled to see. We had the best local food stops!! A humble ambassador for Malaysia!

An enjoyable half day tour of Balik Pulau. We toured cottage industries and tried local delicacies under the excellent guidance of our guide, Ken. A most relaxing morning out of Georgetown.

Margaret was a wonderful guide. She showed us so much of rural Penang and told us all about it. She took loads of photos for us, its so nice to have both of us in photos together! She also encouraged us to try local delicacies, food that we would never have eaten without her suggestions. I would highly recommend this trip.

The morning tour started with breakfast at a traditional café, with a choice of kaya toast or scones, followed by a stop where you could buy local nutmeg products. The tour continued with a scenic viewing point by the water, then to a rice paddy with a painted shipping container and also included a visit to a church. Lunch was Penang laksa. The guide, William, was helpful and knowledgeable. Overall, it was an enjoyable way to experience the countryside around Penang.

Jenny is a warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. I learned so much and it was wonderful to visit small businesses passed through the generations. The bird and plant life in the countryside was awesome. Great photo opportunities and good food too! I enjoyed this trip very much ... well worth the cost.

This guide was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He brought us to places off the beaten track as well as things we had read about. We highly recommend him for any experience in Penang.
