We had a wonderful day on this tour. Cansel was an excellent guide—very informative, engaging and genuinely funny. On the drive out of Munich, she gave us interesting background on Munich and Bavarian history, so the tour really began well before we reached the castles. She was also extremely organized and made sure everyone knew exactly where we needed to go and when and where to meet back up. At the base of Neuschwanstein, she even gave us recommendations for different restaurants depending on what we wanted to eat and how much time we had, which was very helpful. The snacks and drinks provided throughout the day were a nice touch, and the coach was very comfortable. Our group was only 18 people, which made the experience feel much more personal and manageable than a large bus tour. Our driver, whose name unfortunately I can’t quite remember, was also excellent. He was a very skilled driver, and we felt completely comfortable throughout the day. Overall, this was an extremely well-organized, informative and fun way to visit the Bavarian castles. Cansel really added to the experience, and I would highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic, jam-packed tour. Fit in more than we could have done on our own in one day. Our guide, Pedro, was extremely knowledgeable and fluent in several languages including English, German, and Spanish. (This helped with tour instructions immensely.) Both palaces were gorgeous and there was ample time to tour. Pedro secured lunch reservations at Neuschwanstein making eating relaxed and enjoyable. Our driver was also extremely friendly and the ride was smooth. Would highly recommend if you want to get the most out of both palaces in a full day, especially if traveling with kids.

Beautiful countryside, castle is huge, great views, crystal clear lake near castle. Wear good tennis shoes

The organizers were friendly. Gave tips and shortcuts about the tour. If you don't want to see the insides of both palaces, you can deny it or just visit one of castle insides. I really recommend neuschwanstein castle inside tour.

Long day but worth it. Glad I wasn’t driving. Bus comfortable and meeting point easy to find. Our guide, Christine, was good. Learned a lot about Ludwig. Toured both castles. Beautiful. Something in both to see! Thanks to the driver for having cold drinks at reasonable prices.

Mark was a great tour guide. He was so knowledgable and was fun to chat with at each of the stops! The grotto was our favorite place to visit, it was breathtaking and so unique. The tour was great, as the stops were well placed to break up the drive. I’d recommend upgrading to the luxury coach as it provided local drinks and snacks! Overall great tour and can’t forget how amazing Neushwanstein Castle was! A must-see from Munich

We left at 9:05 and returned back at 7:45 PM. Marleen the guide was very good. She was very informative and knowledgeable about Munich and both castles. The only complaint is we had one passenger who liked to be 15 minutes late to every departure. If they say they are going to leave please leave them.

What a fun experience!! We really enjoyed our tour Guide Marlene! She was very knowledgeable not only of the local history but of general information and she was really funny. We were impressed with Marlene’s ability to speak 3 languages that we knew of. We felt that we had enough time at each stop to really explore the castles. An extra that was appreciated were the beers for purchase at the end of the day. The bus driver that we had drove the bus with such expert maneuverability in very tight roads. He handled everything like a champ! Side note that Viator has no control of, the hike to and from Neuschwanstein is very strenuous! There is a shuttle or a carriage but that only takes you so far. Plus, it was 85+ degrees on our day and that for safety of the horses the carriages stopped running. Everyone should be VERY prepared for a strenuous hike uphill and downhill. The castle sits on top of a mountain. There is NO vehicle access the last 1/2 mile and it’s brutal.

Wonderful experience. Chrisirna was very caring guide. Point is to every corner for good food. Made sure we don't miss any part to view. We got late for castle. She made sure we are in. Pls have charger working. It helps when we take millions pictures Driver drove so safely.
