I didn't expect to be moved as much as I was by the content of the museum. I appreciated the focus on humanity especially in an age of content being created by computers. The "help me write" button just below this space stands out to me as I write this. Worth the price of admission.

What a beautiful day with my daughter from the coffee shop right through the exhibition. The whole building has such a warmth and the history and authors was so meaningful I would definitely go again and recommend. I had never been before

The exhibitions are wonderfully staged, the experience is moving. Highly suggested - irish/english proficiency needed.

An absolutely beautifully curated museum and collection. Loved how it blended literature across centuries. Appreciated the interactive portions. Felt very inspired to do even more reading after leaving the museum. Genuinely appreciated that the staff let us in even though we missed our ticket time.

Peter was a fantastic guide - incredibly knowledgeable and great anecdotes. The guided tour lasted about an hour and was worth every penny! Would highly recommend.

A very interesting, informative educational tour with good multimedia. It had good kids section. I would have loved to see a section on the still living Irish authors who have superb track records in modern literature represented rather than only the historical Irish laureates and authors of note.

Talk about a delightful surprise…we enjoyed our serendipitous first visit so much that we returned for a second, longer visit a few days later. You don’t have to be a Joyce disciple to appreciate this very special museum; in fact, you don’t even have to be particularly knowledgeable about Irish literature! All you have to be is a person who appreciates the joys and mysteries of the creative process. I do have one suggestion: please ask the tour guide to lower their voice and minimize the dramaturgy so as not to disturb the other visitors. Whoever led the tour on 1 July 2026 around 2:30pm seemed to be auditioning for a role in a play to be performed in a massive theatre!

You circle your way through the rooms of an old school; some authors get kiosk-size honor while others like Joyce have entire rooms including interactive exhibits - this seems right. If you love literature, it is worth a visit - you'll pick up something you didn't know or have your memory jogged. I left a star off due to the surface quality of some exhibits, like a room where quotes from authors are on an illuminated screen and you can take a piece of paper with the quote; this type of space was underutilized. I also thought the gift shop would be out of this world but it was so-so.
