Alessandro was a wonderful guide, an archaeologist with encyclopedic knowledge of the sites and of Roman history. He was funny and engaging, kind and efficient with our time (and with our time spent in the sun). Highly recommend!
Changes were made to our tour but the Viator app didn’t apply those changes to our ticket that you have to download. The tour operator messaged us asking where we were but we were looking at a different time and meeting spot on our ticket and were late. Either way we lost the opportunity to visit the Colosseum after months of planning. Initially, it was reserved as the Colosseum Underground tour, but the tour provider messaged us a few months later saying there were no tickets available, even though it was reserved. The Viator representative did absolutely nothing to help us. I asked her to put us on another tour or give us back our money. None of that happened. If a tour company changes anything about your reservation or booking and you book it through Viator make sure the information from the tour company and Viator match. I still have an unused, 9:45 AM Colosseum underground ticket in my app. The tour company refused to reimburse me. On a positive note, everything else we have booked through Viator has been good. Just don’t call Customer Service for help.
Our travel guide (cannot remember her name exactly, Gio or Dio) was wonderful. She made the experience a top notch tour. She was informative, had a wonderful personality, and made sure that we had a good time as well as an educational time. I’m a believer in that the tour guide makes the tour and I would recommend this tour with Eyes of Rome to anyone who asks because of ours!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Maria! She was such a great guide on this tour. My husband is a huge history buff, and we both really appreciated all of the thorough information we got during our tour through the Roman Forum & Colosseum. She always tried to make sure we were in the shade, if possible, or that we’d be positioned for the best photo spots. Additionally, I was thankful that we didn’t have a large group. Highly recommend this tour.
