While Rui was very knowledgeable, at times was very hard to hear him and this was a small group tour. He took a lot of care getting us around the city, ensuring we crossed all roads safely and pointed out any issues with footpaths. Good orientation tour.

Excellent tour of the Chiado and Baixa area. The historical lens adopted by Rui was a socio-economic one. He saw various historic architectural structures and Rui connected them to the geography and culture of the Lisboetas. We left the tour with a greater understanding of the impact of the age of exploration in Lisbon’s finances and the development of the various buildings post earthquake.

Unfortunately not a tour I would recommend. Guide was friendly and professional but quite dull, no humor whatsoever, also not native to Portugal. It was boring, and I could have easily learned the few bullet points he made about each stop with a superficial google search. I’d prefer a tour with a guide who was a native to the area, had a lively and conversational personality, and extensively knowledgeable of the stops.

Rui was our wonderful private tour guide! Highly recommend his tour. We are a family of 4 from Boston with 2 boys 18 and 20 years old. Rui was full of knowledge, went at a pace that worked for us even in 95 degree heat. He answered our questions thoroughly and made us feel that every question we asked was important. Highly recommend!

Fantastic walking tour with a very knowledgable guide. We saw so many things we would not have found on our own.

Had a great time with Rui exploring the different neighborhoods of Lisbon on foot. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of each place and how the city has changed over the years. Would recommend!

Riu was an excellent tour guide. The pace was just right! He provided many interesting and historical information about the city of Lisbon and the many neighborhoods. I enjoyed the stops along the way and the opportunity to learn about Portugal’s history. I highly recommend him as a tour guide!

I learned so much! The history plays such a large role in appreciating the statues and buildings in Lisbon. They are cool on their own, but the context made everything much cooler. Rui was even keeled and highly knowledgeable. He cares about your experience and has great recommendations on restaurants etc. He gave consistent opportunities for questions and bathroom stops. Definitely wear good shoes. The tour had very little uphill walking. About 3 hours long, even with the elevator being closed.

Our tour guide Rui Fernandez was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned a lot about Portugal and we love it.

We did this tour with Andre just before Christmas 2025. Andre is very knowledgeable and he gave us detailed information about all the points of interest that we visited in old town of Lisbon. We never felt that we were rushed at any time. We even had time to stop for a coffee and pastel de nata on our tour. He answered all our questions patiently. Highly recommended.
