Ask
Good afternoon, I have a flight from Bogotá to Lima (Avianca) and hours later Lima-Cusco (LATAM) and the question is whether to go through immigration in Lima or in Cusco? Taking into account that I will not leave the airport and the second flight is 2 hours after arrival in Lima, many thanks to whoever gives me an answer

Dear Passeng,
You will go through immigration in Lima because it’s your first point of entry into Peru. Even if you don’t leave the airport before catching your domestic flight, you still need to clear immigration and customs upon arrival in Lima. After that, you’ll proceed to your connecting flight to Cusco, which is considered a domestic route.
Given that you have 2 hours between flights, make sure to factor in the time it takes to pick up your luggage (if necessary) and check in again for LATAM. If your bags are not checked through to Cusco by Avianca, you’ll need to retrieve them in Lima, pass through customs, then head to the LATAM check-in counter for your onward flight. It’s always a good idea to confirm your baggage arrangements in advance with both airlines.
Safe travels, and enjoy Cusco!
