I was able to book the experience as part of my Hiroshima part of the trip. The experience is a must and a highlight on the trip. Allow enough time to explore the island and this activity. As soon as I was welcome, the next step was kimono dressing. They have several selection of colors that you can pick and they took several pictures with the kimono After that, a master did the tea ceremony and explained every step. Probably the best part was the application and creation of my own tea.

This is the place to experience tea ceremony and to rent a kimono. I originally only wanted to go for the first thing out of these two, but then I got convinced. And I'm very glad I did. This whole experience is one of my most fun and the most memorable experiences on my trip in Japan. The ladies working at the place are very nice, fluent in English and almost pro photographers. You can buy some local souvenirs at the shop at the reception. I really wanted to make a reservation for me ahead of my visit, but it was just not possible - I didn't see any system to do this through. Luckily, when I arrived, there was just one other couple having interest in the tea ceremony, so I just needed to wait to the starting time of the closest ceremony, not for some other round of it.

Besides going through a formal tea ceremony, getting fully fitted in ceremonial custom wsa one of the highlights of our Japan trip

We had a wonderful time with Okeiko! 徳寿寺 temple on Miyajima is the perfect relaxed (and highly traditional) setting for careful kimono dressing and the tea ceremony. We all felt personally catered to and loved each of our hosts attentiveness to detail. Highly recommend this experience as opposed to a busy setting like Kyoto or Tokyo. 💕

Such a lovely and wonderful experience! The ladies made me feel so welcome and I felt so beautiful in my kimono, the process of putting on the kimono was a big part of the experience! The tea ceremony was a great traditional experience. I would definitely recommend this experience!

Having never been to a tea service before, we has no expectations. The overall experience was incredible; the ceremonial attire that we were dresses in were beautiful - took lots of pictures, the actual tea ceremony, and the beautiful items in the gift / souvenir shop. We each but tea bowls choosing ones that matches our personalities.

We had a FANTASTIC time! They were very kind, cute, friendly and sweet people. It was an amazing experience for us. If you are going to Miyajima, you should definitely experience this.Thank you so much!

We didn't find the place right away. But once they arrived the two ladies were very sweet and kind. They followed us in dressing, photos and videos, and at the ceremony. You could feel the tradition of ritual.

We had an amazing kimono and tea ceremony experience in the morning. The temple was beautiful and we got really nice photos in the garden. Also, we learned about the four principles of tea-making in Buddhism and is a must-do for anyone looking for a traditional Japanese experience.

This was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in Japan. The place was so serene, calm and relaxing. We were very happy to be dressed up in a Kimono and the time and patience of the two ladies who dressed us was amazing. The ceremony was really well done and its so nice to learn something about this aspect of Japanese culture. Highly recommended.
