You can read about the Manhattan Project and the atomic bombings, but it doesn’t really hit home how earth shattering the atomic bombings were until you visit Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. You can debate whether dropping the bombs were justified but what you can’t question after visiting this place is that the atomic bombings were terrible events involving unfathomable loss of life, and we should do everything in our power to ensure such an event never happens again. Our guide, Akie, did a great job and went out of her way to take me to some things I had read about that weren’t necessarily part of the standard tour. If you are an American visiting Japan I would do everything possible to plan a visit Hiroshima to help better understand this tragic event and how it inalterably changed the world.

We had a wonderful day long tour with Mai from Hiroshima. Everything was smooth and well-organized. We saw and learned things we would not have if we went on our own. Mai also took us to a wonderful lunch sport and place for tea and treats on Miyajima at local places we likely wouldn't have stumbled into. It was a busy, full day but relaxing as Mai was so organized and kept us on track! We would book again.

We had an incredible day visiting Miyajima and Hiroshima . Our guide, Hiroshi was wonderful and made sure our day was planned perfectly and that we saw everything. It was extra special that Hiroshi is from the area and explained the historical history. In addition, we had a great time learning calligraphy, making a paper crane and trying local food. Thanks for a wonderful and informative day!

We attended a Hiroshima day trip with our Guide Minori. She was attentive patient and ensured we tailored our day to what we needed. She was on hand to answer any questions we had and was a fountain of knowledge around the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend to all.

We had a wonderful time touring Hiroshima and Miyajima for a day with Minori Tanaka! She is very knowledgeable and personable, and she speaks English well. She mixed in some fun activities for our teenage son. We highly recommend Minori!

Nori was a great guide. He was easy to communicate with and took all our requests into account when making the schedule. He was very knowledgeable and informative. We learned so much from the Hiroshima museum and wish we could’ve spent a bit more time in it. The Itsukushima shrine at Miyajima did not have water due to low tide so the gate did not actually appear to be “floating”, but we still got some good pictures.

Hiroshi was a great experienced guide, with a in-depth knowledge. We learned a lot from him about the history and culture in Hiroshima. We can highly recommend him!

The best tour we experienced during our trip to Japan. Our guide Yuki was gracious with her time and made history come alive for us. Despite big crowds and some rainy weather, Yuki was a pro at providing an entertaining and informative tour.

Mari was an excellent guide and really was the highlight of our 17 day Japan trip. She had great information about Hiroshima, the history and culture. I had selected a start time for the tour but she reached out to recommend a slightly earlier start so we could hit the tide schedule just right for Miyajima Island, which I really appreciated. She also had recommendations for stuff to see and foods to eat. As we took a short break from all the walking, she told us the story of Sadako and the paper cranes, then showed us how to fold our own paper crane and had a bag we could put it in to take it home. It made for a wonderful souvenir. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to get Mari as your guide!
