Nice, relaxing kayak paddle trip along the Neckar river with scenic views of the castle, bridges, and river banks. Equipment was in good condition and meeting instructions were clear. We would've liked a little more explanation about some of the structures we passed. The evening prior, we did have to contact them to change our booking from morning to afternoon due to travel delays and they were very accommodating and prompt in communicating with us.

Easy to find the meet spot at the riverside, with kit already for you. Little trailer to store bulky items you don’t want to carry with you in the kayak. You can even treat the kayak like a SUP (easier to do on the return). You can go as fast or slow as you want, river runs very smooth. You can even go for a swim or just dip your toes in at the mid point before making your way back. Do bring quick drying or spare clothes, as it’s likely you’ll either splash yourself or get sweaty! I done both… Guide was happy to take photos of you for memories to take home.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Ludgar and his son were friendly and very committed to making sure everyone on the tour had a good time. Most of the other participants spoke German but the Paddle Tour team was careful to translate the info they were sharing into English for us and to check that any questions we had were answered. We are experienced kayakers so appreciated that they were happy to reconfigure 2 of the boats so my husband and I could paddle individually. The view of the city from the water was really special and getting some exercise in was a bonus! Very glad we booked this trip.

Great way to see the castle and experience Heidelberg from the water and get some exercise. Easy to get to and great activity for a solo traveller or if you are with a group.

We were a group of five coworkers (adults), and it was our first time to Germany. We had a private kayak tour, which worked out great for our group. Ludger was a fantastic guide providing historical facts and interesting stories about the city. He was helpful to those that were new to kayaking or haven’t kayaked in a long time. Navigating the water was easy because the water was so calm. Beautiful views of the city, the castle, and all the surrounding beauty. Setting up the tour was simple, and the meeting spot was easy to locate. We would highly recommend doing this if you’re in the area and looking for a fun activity to do!

Delightful to see Heidelberg from the water. Ludger made the experience exceptional and was patient to wait for me as I was the only solo kayaker on this tour (apart from him) and a lot slower. I enjoyed the experience.

This is a fabulous activity to do while staying in Heidelberg. It was lovely to kayak and see the beautiful views from the river. Ludger is an exceptional guide, explaining everything and making the inexperienced feel comfortable. Our whole group had a lot of fun. Thank you Ludger.

The trip was amazing, considering that we were movicws at Kayaking. Ludger and Team were very patient with us, guided us through the session, and were extremely helpful. Amazing experience !
