Henry was fantastic. The perfect day. First time doing a private tour and it was amazing.

Henry is the best! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. He is very knowledgeable and adapted to our wishes. He’s very personable; by the end of the day, we were friends. Highly recommend!

Our host Henry Cottam was the perfect fit for us. A beautiful drive through the Black Forest region, including a hike into the forest along a brook to a splendid waterfall. We then shared a delicious lunch with a scenic view. And finally, we traveled, at our request, to explore the region near Karlsruhe from which our family emigrated to the USA. Due to Henry’s patience and persistence, we actually met some cousins who still live in the little town of our family origins. A fantastic day, thanks to our friendly, knowledgeable host, Henry Well done!

Henry has been a very educated guide. We enjoy his tour a lot. We can suggest his service in this area :-) He guided us through amazing Heidelberg and introduced all the attractions.

This was a great and amazing trip. Henry picked us up on time at our hotel, and drove us to the Black Forest region. The tour was truly spectacular. Henry provided us with really good information as to the region, history of the places we visited, stopped for photo opportunities and took us to great places for hiking and food. Henry is a great guide, very knowledgeable and I will work with him again for future trips.

From snowy hikes to delightful dining experiences and engaging conversations, our small group had a wonderful day. The blend of nature, food, and camaraderie made this tour memorable. Excellent full-day tour of the Black Forest in November 2023. Henry is a fine gentleman and a wonderful tour guide. His tour of the Black Forest was expertly arranged. We drove and hiked through a variety of locations - forests, streams, lakes, waterfalls, villages - all with beautiful views. Henry is quite knowledgeable about this part of the world and was a great companion. Highly recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed our day! Henry was fantastic! Did a little hike, got some pretty pictures in the forest. Some wine tasting, a great lunch, and saw a few of the small villages in the Black Forest area! Also got some good advice from Henry for spending our evening in Heidelberg! Only recommendation- spend more than a day in the area!

If you want to see the best of the Black Forest with the best tour guide, then you should book this tour! Henry is extremely knowledgeable of the area. The views are spectacular! First, we stopped and hiked in the cool, peaceful Black Forest to a waterfall. Then we went to a large lake and saw cuckoo clocks made from trees of the Black Forest and hiked to the highest point of the Forest over-looking the Rhine Valley. After the hike, we had a delicious lunch and dessert (traditional sspatzle, maultaschen and Black Forest cake- lunch not included in tour price).

We thought Henry was great. Starting off with a walking tour in Heidelberg, we got to know the city very well. And had ample time to see the castle and walked the grounds at our leisure. He was very knowledgeable of all things seen that day, including the Black Forest. He took us a good time to avoid crowds and made sure we had time to do the things we wanted to (Black Forest cake, wineries). We were comfortable enough with him where we could call him friend. Highly recommend. He loves Elvis.
