I had an absolutely fantastic time on this walking tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kanazawa. Our guide, Yasushi, was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about sharing his hometown with us. Since he’s from Kanazawa, he offered so much more than just historical facts. He explained the stories, traditions, and cultural significance behind each place, which made everything feel much more meaningful. We explored Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle, the samurai district, and the geisha district, and I learned far more than I would have wandering on my own. Yasushi knew exactly where to stop, what details to point out, and how to bring the history to life with fascinating explanations and local insight. One thing I especially appreciated was that he had connections with local businesses along the route. We were able to visit a gold leaf workshop and see demonstrations that I wouldn’t have known to look for on my own. Those kinds of experiences really made the tour feel special. Beyond being incredibly knowledgeable, Yasushi was simply a wonderful guide. He was kind, welcoming, patient with questions, and clearly loves what he does. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it made the entire afternoon both fun and memorable. If you’re visiting Kanazawa and want to truly understand the city’s history and culture, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I’m so glad I chose it.

We had a fabulous afternoon exploring the Kenroken Gardens and then the geisha district with a demonstration of the gold leaf process. Yasushi the guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the day very enjoyable

Yasushi, was a great guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The royal gardens were beautiful and having him explain the different areas really enriched the experience. The geisha district with the crafts was fun as well. Overall a great mix of experience.

It was a lot of fun to travel around with Keita. We learned lots of information that made us appreciate the visited spots more. It was very interesting and he answered our additional questions enthusiastically.

Great look-around in four specific spots of Kanazawa with lovely guide Keita!! Around 3 hours full of information you would've otherwise missed if you went by yourself. Very much recommended!
