Amazing experience with Elly. She got to know us and then took us on an incredible food tour of the market
Elly was exceptional and gave us a wonderful tour of the market. 10/10 experience! She took us places we would not have stopped at on our own. We also had some special requests and she made them happen. Wonderful!
Minnie was a wonderful guide to the Tsukiji outer market. She made sure all of our needs were met and knew exactly when to hit each stall. Highly recommend!
Yanni was a super guide - knowledgeable and flexible with the tour, to help us have the experience we were seeking.
Amazing experience custom tailored to our preferences. Tosh was very helpful and great. He helped us understand the market and showcased some of best things to try.
We enjoyed the tour snd ate way too much. The guide was ery nice and helped us tailor the experience
Toshi is a very attentive tour guide. He communicates thoroughly before you start the tour, with exactly where to meet and what time to be there. He adheres to the Japanese Custom of arriving five minutes early. While meeting up with him, he made sure to confirm our dietary restrictions and also gauge our comfort level with certain foods before purchasing them or suggesting them. He also takes advantage of making small talk to ensure that the time is spent with engaging conversation and a bit of humor. One thing that we enjoyed was the pace. We did not feel rushed, and I got the impression that if we wanted to extend the tour, he would not proactively cut it short. One of the favorite things that we enjoyed was the quality of the picture he took of us. He really put effort into making sure that he not only captured you but the energy of the food market. When the Tour was ending, he would remember certain things that he offered to do, for example going with us to the subway station to buy tickets. Those things go a long way with me, especially coming from Los Angeles. The other thing that we liked was he made it clear that he did not want a tip or expect one. So we probably disrespected him by giving him a tip, but it was well deserved because we had a very good time.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review. We are truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with Toshi and had a memorable experience exploring Tsukiji Market. Toshi always does his best to make guests feel comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of, so your kind words about his communication, pacing, attention to dietary preferences, and photography mean a lot to us. We’re also very touched by your comments regarding tipping. In Japan, tipping is not generally expected, so our guides never want guests to feel any pressure or obligation. However, please know that Toshi was genuinely very happy and grateful for your kindness and generosity. For our guides, receiving a tip is not simply about the money — it is also a meaningful sign that our guests truly enjoyed the experience and felt satisfied with the tour. Your appreciation and warm support truly encourage and motivate our team. Thank you again for choosing our tour and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Japan again in the future!
Yanni was great and knowledgeable, the pictures he took were very good too. We love going to food tours because it’s always more than food, you learn about history and culture. I’m giving this 4 stars because I feel like the description is not upfront about what they offer. Everywhere we visit we pay for a food tours, they usually include all the food with the payment of the ticket. This one only included 1,500 yen per person that’s $9.58 USD, we paid $80 USD per person. It would’ve been nice to know that there was a $ limit. This is not on Yanni, he was excellent, this is more on the company and the transparency. The Tuna alone was 2000 yen for 4 pieces, this leaves you with 1000 yen. I think that maybe 3000 yen per person would’ve been more reasonable and definitely the price limitation should be included on the description. If we would’ve known this ahead of time we probably would’ve booked another tour.
Thank you very much for joining our Tsukiji tour and for your thoughtful feedback. We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed Yanni’s guiding, knowledge, and photos. We also appreciate your comments regarding the food budget included in the tour. Our tour is designed to give guests flexibility in choosing what they would personally like to try at Tsukiji, as food prices can vary greatly depending on the items selected. While premium items such as otoro tuna can be more expensive, many guests are able to enjoy around 3 different local foods comfortably within the included budget. We understand the importance of making this information as clear as possible in the tour description, and we truly appreciate your feedback. We will continue improving the information we provide so guests can choose the experience that best fits their expectations. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope you enjoyed your time exploring Tsukiji and Tokyo.
Amazing guide Yanni. Learned a lot about the area and the Tsukiji temple next to the market, and the history of the market.
We had a great fish market tour with Elly. She was a great guide for my wife and my son. She took us through the best of the best of the gigantic fish market! With great stops for sampling the food at a few of the stands. Spoke perfect English and English and was very knowledgeable about the market and its history.
