Visited the Sake Festival held at Osaka Bay Tower and had a great time. The open-air setting made it feel relaxed and easy to enjoy sake at your own pace. We got to sample sake from all over Japan—each one had its own unique character. It was a nice surprise to chat directly with the brewers, who gave beginner-friendly tips like “This one’s best at room temp” or “You’ll enjoy this one more when it’s chilled.” There were tasty food stalls, too, so you could pair snacks with different sake. One fun touch was the sake-themed playing cards being sold as limited-edition merch— made for a great souvenir!

Even though I’m not a heavy drinker, I had a fantastic time at this event! You can taste a wide variety of sake from all over Japan, and it’s fun to compare the flavors side by side. Some booths are run by the actual brewers, who kindly explained the sake in a way that even beginners like me could understand. The whole atmosphere is casual and friendly—perfect for going with friends. The event was outdoors, so it felt very open and refreshing. There was great food to pair with the drinks, and background music that made it feel like a mini festival. My friends from overseas also really enjoyed it, and they appreciated the multilingual support on site. They also offered a few limited-edition sake-related souvenirs that added to the fun. Highly recommend if you’re even slightly curious about Japanese sake!
