Marii was an excellent host and guide. Her knowledge of food, history and culture was superb. She was incredibly enthusiastic and engaging. It was a great pleasure to be part of.

Mari was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable. The tour has been the highlight of our trip, highly recommend!

Overall pretty disappointing. For an Osaka food tour, expectations are for the food to be the hero and it was very average. You might think that they would have curated some hidden gems for a food tour but they are just hidden. I would suggest that the 3 Osakan dishes (takoyaki, okonimyaki and deep fried skewers) are always part of the ‘15 course’ menu. We got 2 out of 3, ie no takoyaki, and the only deep fried skewer was yam. Hard to understand why a food tour would use a whiskey bar for one of the 5 food stops. Sure, it had an endless array of whiskies but we did that tour in Scotland. The guide was friendly but it’s a tough gig to deliver on this tour if you are not Japanese and have limited Japanese speaking/reading skills. So in summary, the tour might appeal to some who want have a laugh and a few drinks. We wanted to start our Japanese trip in Osaka with an understanding of the people, the place and of course the food and it did not deliver on any of those points.
