Yuka was the best host! She was very kind and welcoming. The experience was very intimate. Only our party of 2. Yuka met us at the train station and was thoughtful to bring umbrellas during anticipated inclimate weather. Yuka guided us through a matcha tea making (tea ceremony) which was paired with traditional Japanese snacks. Yuka also made us iced matcha lattes to give us a different matcha experience! For the gyoza and sushi making, Yuka was very patient in guiding us through each of rhe processes which were completely new to us! When we were done with food making, we enjoyed our finished products and Yuka was thoughtful to offer a variety I’d drinks to pair with our meal. If you are in Yokohama, I would totally recommend booking this experience with Yuka. It was by far one of the best we have had during our many travels.
This experience was truly special. Making matcha tea, sushi and gyoza with Yuka in her traditional Japanese house felt so authentic and warm. Everything was hands-on, delicious, and taught with so much passion. Yuka made sure I left with new skills, great memories, and a deep appreciation for Japanese culture. I truly recommended this unforgettable experience. Thank you very much.
There is a ten minute walk from meeting place to host house. Nice traditional house in a Japanese residential area. Our host Yuka was most gracious and spoke English well. Yuka guided us through the whole process of making sushi and goyza. Yuka had tea, snacks and traditional Japanese drinks for us. The sushi and goyza we made were delicious. Yuka made sure to document our visit and sent us copies of the many pictures she took. It was about 20 minutes by taxi from Oshasnbashi international cruise ship terminal. Well worth the trip.
