We had a great day on this tour! There were so many activities, and we were busy the entire time. The day started with a 5:30 a.m. pickup from our hotel. After picking up other guests at several hotels, we left Antigua at 6:00 a.m. and arrived at our starting point around 8:20 a.m. It is a long drive, but the scenery is beautiful, and it gives you a chance to see more of Guatemala outside of Antigua. Kevin was our guide and spoke wonderful English. He was easy to listen to and shared great stories and information about the history and culture of the area. Breakfast was simple and tasty, and they kept the coffee flowing! We really enjoyed the chocolate tour and the honey tour, but the highlight for us was definitely the weaving tour. She was so thorough, and it was unlike any tour we had experienced before. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything, but we couldn't help ourselves! This tour is definitely a must-do. We highly recommend it!
Great tour of a couple villages! Lunch location (not included) had very good food! In Sandiago, the tuk tuk tour was not arranged because the guide did not ask when we were eating lunch. It was an option we decided to do that would cost extra, but it was not realized and we would have seen even more places.
It was a long day but totally worth it! There was some traffic on the way back but overall it went smoothly.
Let me start with the positives. The lake and the scenery are breathtaking, the guides were fantastic, and the chocolate factory and textiles factory were better than expected. However, be warned that out of the 12+ hour trip, 7 of them are on a bus built for 15 small children, NOT 15 adults like we had. It was very uncomfortable for the entire 7 hours. This alone was the reason for dropping from 5* to 3* as it put us in a bad mood from the moment we got there.
Thank you for highlighting the beauty of Lake Atitlán, our guides, and the cultural experiences. We are sorry the transportation affected your comfort. The journey is approximately 2.5 hours each way, depending on traffic and road conditions. Guatemala’s mountainous terrain and winding roads can make the trip feel longer. We appreciate your feedback and will review our transportation arrangements to improve the overall experience.
We had an amazing experience with Kevin and the group we were lucky enough to be on this tour with. We’re on our first international trip with our 9 month old daughter, and this was one of the only excursions we found that explicitly allowed babies under 12 months old. Our group consisted of 8 people plus our baby: 6 of us spoke only Spanish, and 2 of us only English. Kevin gave the tour in both Spanish AND English, which was so impressive. We learned so much about Guatemala, the Mayan culture, our new friends, and Lake Atitlán. Yes, it was a long day—13 hours in all—but it was truly a fulfilling experience. Enter this tour with an open mind and an open heart, and you will walk away a changed person. Oh, and the views are to die for! This isn’t an experience to miss.

Amazing experience! The tour was excellent, and our guide Micheal was incredibly knowledgeable . Micheal was hands down the best. Highly recommend to anyone. My daughter and I loved it.
I really did enjoy Guatemala as a whole, but this experience was a lot. I think that some things couldve been communicated a little better, and the itinerary and driving time shouldve been made known before the trip. The pickup arrangements were changed the night before, and I understand why that happened, but giving less than a 24 hour notice was unprofessional. I was not expecting to be in a car for nearly 5 hours to get to our destination. We didn't even get to go to all of the stops, we made it to 2. It wasn't all bad, but I really didn't like the way things were communicated.

My friends and I had unique, interesting chocolate, amazing views from the major towns around the lake, access to traditional clothes to buy, and on top of this, our tour guide Kevin is a BASED GUATEMALAN CHAD. He made the experience always, always educating us on Mayan traditions, as well as spreading his basedness to everyone with amazing professionalism. English: Amazing trip!! My friends and I enjoyed a unique and interesting chocolate, amazing views from the main villages around the lake, access to traditional clothes to buy, and in addition to all this, our tour guide Kevin is a BASED GUATEMALAN CHAD. He made the experience always, always educating us about Mayan traditions, as well as infecting their baseness to everyone with incredible professionalism.
