The guide canceled the tour only 10 minutes before the appointment, even though I was already there. He didn't even notify me directly; I discovered the cancellation on GetYourGuide, even though I had just sent him a message on WhatsApp to confirm my arrival.
The reason given was bad weather. However, it hadn't been raining for several hours by the time scheduled for the tour. This justification therefore seems hardly convincing.
This tour was supposed to be the last one of my trip, since I was catching a flight in the late afternoon. I had specifically organized myself to be able to participate before my departure.
A cancellation can be understandable when it is justified and announced early enough. On the other hand, canceling 10 minutes before the appointment, while the client is already on-site, without even notifying me directly, is particularly unprofessional and completely unacceptable behavior. This experience was very disappointing.

Super experience
A great experience! You learn a lot about life in this favela, visit various places, and of course the famous FIFA Street soccer field. Very fun for everyone, especially with the local children!

Excellent tour
Brilliant tour with Arthur as our guide at only 16- informative and respectful visit to understand a different way of life. My boys 9 and 15 loved the football part!

Unforgettable Experience!
This is a truly unforgettable experience! Our guide Jackson was amazing throughout the tour, starting off with learning about the local community and taking in the breathtaking views with a drink and snack before playing against the locals on the famous FIFA street pitch. We played for about an hour before playing a competitive game at a separate field for around another hour. Following on from this we got pizza and chatted more about the local community. Can’t recommend this experience enough to anyone who’s interested in football!
