Do not book this tour. We booked this tour and contacted the tour organizer through viator and whatsapp regarding the pick-up point. They wouldn’t answer. When they finally answered after many hours, they said to cancel the tour and the call dropped. I couldn’t contact them again. I wasted so much time texting and calling them.

We booked a tour to the canyon and lakes near Almaty and the company never showed up. We woke at 5:00 AM and waited at the meeting point, but no driver ever came and they never responded to our messages either. Their no-show ruined our last day in Almaty and we missed the canyon completely, which was the main reason we booked. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. Avoid this company.

I am an Indonesian woman living in South Korea. I came alone to travel to Almaty, Kazakhstan, from May 1 to May 4, 2026. I had booked the Kolsai Kaindy Lakes & Charyn Canyon tour package through AGODA well in advance, and the tour was operated by NOMAD TRAILS. My tour schedule for May 3, 2026, included a 5:00 a.m. pick-up at my hotel. On May 3, I waited in the hotel lobby before 5:00 a.m., but the tour guide never came to pick me up. I waited patiently from 5:05, 5:10, and 5:30, but the tour guide never showed up. Finally, from 5:33 to 7:56 a.m., I called 12 times, but no one answered, and they didn't respond to my five WhatsApp messages. NOMAD TRAILS' service as a tour operator was extremely poor and outrageous. I am a woman traveling alone from Korea to Almaty, Kazakhstan, for vacation. I booked the tour because I don't understand Kazakh or Russian. And I didn't dare to visit Kolsai Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon on my own because it was so far away. I came all the way from Korea to Almaty because I really wanted to see Kolsai Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon, but because of Nomad Trails, my trip to Almaty was completely ruined, and I was very stressed. I couldn't book the Kolsai Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon tour through other tour operators because I didn't have enough time, because on May 4th I had to go back to Korea and to go to Kolsai Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon on that day was impossible because the bookings were full and couldn't be done at short notice. Besides the poor service, Nomad Trails is also a fraud and irresponsible towards foreign tourists. They have refunded my money, but that's not enough, they should compensate me for causing me so much stress and wasting my time not being able to visit Kolsai Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon!
