We booked this food tour for our family and it was amazing. Thaïs was a phenomenal guide! We learned so much more than expected on the food tour and Thaïs was so knowledgeable and helpful about everything. Would definitely recommend, it was so much fun!
We were so fortunate to have our guide, Thais, showing us the details and beautiful history of Aix. Besides getting the sample delicious food, we gained a deep understanding I appreciation for this beautiful city and its role in French history. Would highly recommend for anybody looking for a combination of delicious food sampling, and local history of Provence! .
Renauld was amazing!! He left a strong impression and we can’t recommend him enough. He is personable, hospitable and caring; patient and informative. He extended our 3 hour tour because we wanted to try a few more morsels. And seemingly he knows everyone and has an endless knowledge of the city.
Here's a balanced review that acknowledges the positives while making your concern clear. We enjoyed the food tour overall and left with very full stomachs. Every food stop was enjoyable, and our guide, Ingrid, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. However, the tour was advertised as including "tasty stuffs and historical anecdotes about the streets and places," and that was not our experience. While the food was excellent, there was very little information shared about the history of Aix-en-Provence, the streets we walked, the local culture, or the origins and significance of the foods we sampled. We were hoping to learn why these places and foods were important, but the tour focused almost entirely on eating from one stop to the next. If you're looking for a food tasting experience, this tour delivers. If you're expecting the combination of food and historical storytelling described in the advertisement, you may come away disappointed. We hope the company either provides guides with more historical knowledge or adjusts the description so that it better reflects the experience being offered.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food and that Ingrid made you feel welcome throughout the tour. We're sorry the experience didn't fully match your expectations. Our tours are designed to focus primarily on the local food scene, with historical and cultural insights shared along the way rather than as a traditional history tour. We appreciate your comments and will certainly take them into consideration as we continue to improve both our tours and how we describe them. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
Tour was great. It ended up being just myself and my parents and Renaud was very accommodating to our pace. He had great anecdotes and kept the tour interesting. Highly recommend.
We had a few days in Aix-en-Provence and the highlight for me was the walking Food Tour led by Inga. She was so friendly and interesting to talk with as she led us from one eatery to the other. She also answered other questions we had to make our visit more enjoyable. I would recommend this Tour to other travelers! Be sure to sart with an empty stomach!
We had a fantastic experience with Renaud on this tour. We got to see so much of Aix—we feel like experts now!
Having traveled extensively around the world I can honestly say that Thais is the best guide I ever had, her English is excellent, her knowledge is impressive, her enthusiasm contagious and her kindness and patience outstanding. Within minutes the whole group felt as we were exploring with an old friend. Thais made every aspect of the tour fascinating, from food and local traditions to history, art and culture. Her ability to connect with people of all ages and share her passion transformed a wonderful trip into an unforgettable experience . Thank you Thais for waiting for us when our driver was late and especially for creating such special memories. It was truly one of the highlights of my travels
Fabulous tour! Perfect balance of sightseeing and food! Deniz was awesome!
Inga was great, 5 stars. We were late but she waited for us. As a foodie, she was very excited about food and shared with us her enthusiasm. The food itself was good but felt repetitive with the obligatory charcuterie in all food tour. We would have preferred other cheeses or types of meat. Inga was able to provide more cheese for my sister who is vegetarian. What we are learning is that the food tours are from ok to good, but we had better food at a random restaurant. The charcuterie here pale in comparison to the food tour in Halles the Lyon. I would have preferred smaller portions of food and more varieties than a charcuterie and a deconstructed sandwich with more or less the same theme of bread, 3 types of fromage, and jambon, baked. I do appreciate the salad though because Lyon doesn't provide that. More variety of food and in smaller portion would make this tour better. We were so full and couldn't eat the dessert at the end.
