早朝、アディスアベバからデブレ・ツァイトまで南下し、その後、死火山ズクアラ山の麓まで向かいます。山の頂上にある 4 世紀に創建されたズクアッラ修道院を訪れるには、約 4 時間の高低差約 900 m のハイキングが必要です。このハイキングを行う際には、体調を整えておくことをお勧めします。標高3,000メートル近い山の頂上に位置し、美しい森に囲まれた神聖な湖もあります。ここでは、コロブス サルや固有種のメネリクブッシュバックなどの野生動物や、固有種のエチオピア コウライウグイスやアビシニア キツツキなどの鳥類を楽しむことができます。
町の中心部のすぐ南にあるビショフトゥ湖は、町の他の地域に最も近い湖です。 この湖へは急な牛道を通ってアクセスでき、観光客や地元住民が頻繁に訪れ、特に暖かい夏の間は水中で泳ぐことで知られています。 ビショフトゥの北 1 km に位置するホーラ湖は、5 つの湖の中で最大であり、湖上でよく見かけるボートの往来が最も多い湖の 1 つです。 このため、奥深くまで泳ぐことはお勧めできませんが、海岸沿いには多数の桟橋があり、ボートや船長をレンタルできます。
