Getting to make okonomiyaki at Acchan was an amazing experience! Acchan was incredibly upbeat and friendly. I got to learn how he started his own okonomiyaki restaurant and had the unique opportunity to stand behind the grill and make my own okonomiyaki. He walked us through the entire process, and at the end we drew our country's flags in mayonnaise before he stuck a sparkler along with a word summing up our trip to Japan into the finished okonomiyaki. It was so much fun! Afterward, Acchan made one himself so we could compare the flavor of ours with one made by a professional. You can really tell how much time, care, and effort he's put into perfecting his craft!

I loved this okonomiyaki cooking experience in central Hiroshima. Despite being right in the heart of the city, the restaurant had a genuine local feel — more neighborhood regulars than tourists, which gave it an authentic vibe you don't always get with typical tourist activities. The guide who joined us made all the difference. She translated everything between us and Atchan, the shop owner who taught us, so I never felt lost or unsure what to do next — I could just relax and enjoy the experience. Getting to stand at the big iron griddle in the actual kitchen and cook my own okonomiyaki was such a memorable, hands-on moment. Drawing my home country's flag on top with mayonnaise was such a fun, personal touch, and Atchan kept things lively the whole time, entertaining us like a true showman. And of course, the taste was incredible. Since it stays right on the griddle while you eat, every bite was piping hot until the very last one. Listening to Atchan share his story while we ate added a whole other layer to the experience. Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima's soul food, and this felt like such a genuine way to experience it — well worth the price for the hands-on cooking, the guide, the food, and the story all together. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hiroshima.

We had such a fun and delicious okonomiyaki experience! Both our guide Naomi san and the restaurant owner, Acchan, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. What made this tour special was that it wasn’t just about cooking okonomiyaki. We had a great time joining this okonomiyaki tour. Making Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki was a very special experience. It was fun, and the okonomiyaki I made was very delicious. Acchan, the owner, was friendly, funny, and welcoming. He made the experience even more enjoyable. And the staff were also very kind and took good care of us. I also enjoyed talking with Acchan, the staff, and the other guests. It was a great chance to meet local people and experience Hiroshima’s warm hospitality. At the end, I had the chance to compare the okonomiyaki I made with the one Acchan made. It was interesting to taste the difference, and I could see how skilled he is.
