Well worth a visit with a guide. There is a new entrance on the right hand side when coming form ythe Cancun/Tulum direction with a large concrete car park (Cost 124 pesos) and as a tip the older direction signage hasnt been replaced yet, There are lots of people trying to get you to stop before the offical entrance, I suggest that you ignore them I had my wife with me and a wheelchair for her. (You really need wide wheels on the chair) I negotiated a one hour english guide price (Official guide cost is 1,300 pesos) with one of the freelanceers waiting at the entrance who helped me push the wheelchair around (Cost 1,000 pesos) That was a greta help for me as its hot and humid there The guide was very informative and surprisingly to me Chicken Itza is an AD monument We were there around 10.00 am and missed the big crowds coming off the tour coaches which arrived from 11.00 onwards There are lots of sellers along the walking route from the car park into the site and again you should haggle hard

Everything you need to know the site independently. When I downloaded the guide I had some trouble opening it (after entering the code it re-asked me for the code again, as if it didn't take it. Just close the app and reopen it to fix). Geolocation works well, when you pass in front of the place of explanation the audio starts by itself (so the earphones should always be kept). But you can also start the explanation yourself, even if I consider it less convenient.

We have learned virtually nothing. I think we would have learned a lot more by searching Wikipedia for information. The tone of the voice is totally flat, which is very boring to hear, because of the strange accent and pronunciation it seems a bad translation made with AI. Sometimes what he told made no sense in Spanish, so the story became incomprehensible. Nor does it put you in context or tell you anything about who the Maya were, their customs and/or traditions. In our opinion we understood more than we saw through the posters of the archaeological park than through this audio tour. A big disappointment, really. We don’t understand how other people could have given it such good reviews.
Tatiana, this tour was written nearly a decade ago by a real person, translated AND interpreted by a native Spanish speaker, and narrated the same way. There is no AI in any part of what I do and I take an accusation like that pretty seriously. Please be specific -- what stop was incomprehensible? Where is the part that didn’t make sense? I’m more than happy to revisit and revise my tours after all feedback -- IF you can provide concrete details.
