Big Dave was a brilliant instructor! Calm and patient! We had a brilliant time and I felt very safe but also had so much fun. Would definitely recommend to anyone. My 2 older teenage sons also really enjoyed it! Thank you!!

Great experience for beginner's surfing. Group was quite large with mixed ages. Some seemed very young and got in the way, which made it harder to catch a wave and not crash into them. Guides were really good (Hugo & Kitt) but also spent more time with the younger members of the group, which is understandable, but meant others got less 1-2-1 support.

Rosie and Lee-Roy were our surfing instructors for beginners surfing session on 01st Aug for Holly, Anya and Mike. They were brilliant instructors and made us all feel relaxed as we have never surfed before. They were very welcoming and there knowledge was on all surfing topics was top notch. I would highly recommend Newquay Activity Centre for anyone wanting to try out surfing. I (Mike), will definitely look to have more lessons as I am keen to take up surfing being a local in Newquay. We had a fabulous time at our family surf session for beginners. Lee-Roy is an amazing instructor. He is both fun and knowledgeable. Full of energy and has a great way with kids and adults. We all had a great time and all got up on our boards thanks to Lee-Roy. Would definitely recommend!

We have celebrated my son's 15th Birthday by give it a go to join a beginner surf session via the Newquay Activity Centre. We had an amazing experience. Very nervous but with the care and support from our lovely instructor called Jacinta, everything went smoothly from start to finish.We had a fun morning.Thank you. We will be back again

I booked private surf lessons for my 14-year-old daughter and my 9-year-old son. To be honest, neither of them was convinced they wanted lessons, especially my son, who had already decided he probably wouldn’t even try to stand up on the board. From the moment the lesson started, Zak completely changed their attitude. His positive energy, enthusiasm, patience, and ability to connect with kids made a huge difference. He encouraged them to get out of their comfort zone and had them trying to stand up from the very beginning, making the whole experience exciting, fun, and full of confidence. The biggest surprise was my son. Before the lesson, he was convinced surfing wasn’t for him. After spending time with Zak, he completely changed his mind. Since then, he has been practising his pop-up every single day and is now confidently surfing proper waves. That transformation alone says everything about Zak’s ability as an instructor. Zak isn’t just an excellent surf coach—he inspires confidence, motivates his students, and makes them genuinely love surfing. If you’re looking for an instructor who can make a lasting impact, especially with children, I couldn’t recommend him more highly. Thank you, Zak, for giving my kids an experience they will never forget!

So good. Had a couple of sessions at other places and all the boys said this was the best of them all.
