Absolutely loved this trip! The only downside was how long it takes to travel to and from the lagoon. It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive to the marina and another hour to travel back. Once you add it up, that eats into your total excursion time quite a bit. We loved our guide, Jhoana, she was very knowledgeable & friendly. We ended up being only 4 of 6 people on this excursion. So if you are looking for a less crowded adventure, then this is for you! The water was even more stunning than the pictures do it justice, and the food was the best we had the entire trip!

The boat trip to the Bacalar Seven Color Lagoon was an enjoyable experience with a couple of minor caveats. The meal provided was genuinely good, and Johana made sure there was plenty of drinking water available throughout the excursion, which was much appreciated in the heat. The main letdown was the mixed drinks. If you are hoping for a real cocktail, keep your expectations low—they mixed a tiny splash of tequila with a generic Sprite, resulting in an extremely weak drink. Aside from the underwhelming bar situation, it was a solid excursion with great food and beautiful views. Johana was very friendly and went out of her way to make it more enjoyable with a little history lesson.

They will cancel your reservation, don’t bother. Book elsewhere or get stuck planning something else last minute. They don’t even offer alternatives, I would have booked for 6 people for a private tour . Instead they just cancel you and leave you hanging hours before arriving. Twice now they did this to me .

This trip was one for the ages! Truly one of the most fun trips that my family and I have ever taken. Eco Experience Costa Maya did not disappoint and ensured that our group of 34 were well taken care of. Jhoana and her team are true professionals with so much knowledge about Bacalar and the region, they were so informative, as well as fun. I highly recommend this guide and this excursion, you will not be disappointed. Also, they will ensure that you get back to the port on time for your cruise departure. We had an amazing time considering the short time we visited. Our tour guide was super nice, knowledgeable on the lagoon and surroundings as well as fun and made the long drive bearable. The lagoon is worth the drive; fresh, Shallow water and they served fresh fruit too! We spent plenty of time in the water which is what we wanted and had an authentic meal!!

From the moment we met her, she made us feel welcome. By the end of the day, we felt like family. She shared the history of Bacalar and the Seven Color Lagoon in a way that was interesting and easy to understand. She even surprised us by bringing fresh local pineapple, cutting it up herself, and serving it to us while we were relaxing in the beautiful turquoise water. That personal touch meant so much to our family. She also took us to an authentic local restaurant that served some of the best food we had during our trip. It was absolutely delicious and something we never would have found on our own. Our kids loved every minute. They got to swim in the incredible lagoon, drive the pontoon boat, and laugh with the crew throughout the day. These are memories our family will cherish for years to come. If you are visiting Costa Maya, do yourself a favor and book this excursion. Ask for Jhoana by name. We had a spectacular experience on the tour to the Lagoon of Seven Colors in Bacalar with Bacalar Experiences! From the beginning, everything was very well organized. We especially want to highlight the excellent work of our guide, Jhoana, who was very kind, professional, and demonstrated great knowledge about the history, culture, and natural beauty of Bacalar. Her explanations made the experience even more interesting and memorable. We also thank Arturo, our driver, for his punctuality, kindness, and for making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire tour. The Lagoon of Seven Colors is simply stunning, and thanks to the great service from Jhoana and Arturo, we were able to enjoy it to the fullest. We booked our tour on our day in port, we were picked up just outside of the port and returned in time to board our ship. JHOANA was a great guide and she shared so much about this region in Mexico and we had a great time with plenty of time to relax and enjoy time in the water. Our transportation was was air conditioned and beverages were provided. We had a wonderful meal that was included in the price of our trip. I highly recommend booking this tour.

Jhoana was a terrific guide she made it through fine experience right at the court. She had our names printed on a poster, which set the right tone right from the start. She was very engaging and interesting and fun to be with telling us all kinds local interests and a little of her personal life which made us feel very comfortable and at ease. From start to finish, this was a top notch excursion. Thank you for making our day so special.

Lagoon was a lot prettier from far and yes the water was clear but nothing to look at when snorkeling. Seven color might be a stretch but it is definitely clear water. A tad bit cold this time around in January, fyi. Jhoana was a great host and tried her best to entertain and provide a fun experience. I just wished I knew that it takes more than a hour van ride to the water, and the riding through endless potholes wasn't fun at all.
