Castle Hill looked like something straight out of a fantasy movie – massive boulders everywhere that the kids could actually climb on and explore. Guide was passionate about the geology which made the whole experience way more interesting than just looking at cool rocks. Alpine views were stunning and the energy of being up there was just special. Thanks to Ultimate New Zealand Tours for organizing this gem!
The Arthur Pass and Castle Hill day trip was an absolute highlight of our New Zealand holiday. Castle Hill's rock formations are otherworldly and perfect for families seeking adventure. The hiking was manageable for all ages and the views were spectacular. The pickup service was prompt and punctual, and the vehicle was immaculate. Every aspect of this tour deserves five stars. We felt completely safe and well looked after throughout. Arthur's Pass is a great area, for day trips or to stay, with great , tramping, bird life & watching, hunting, mountain biking, camping, fishing, short walks , ski fields not far away .A lovely little township with great information centre , Pub & restaurants & accommodation. You have to be carful of the inquisitive Keas .The Transalpine train stops there . A great stop when travelling over to the West Coast . About 2hrs drive from Christchurch over the Southern Alps . A Must Stop over . Highly Recommend
