Finding a trip that keeps both a seven year old and a twelve year old happy is usually impossible but this one did it. The Dahabiya was the star for them they loved watching the crew raise the sail and spotting birds along the river. We stopped at a temple where the guide showed my youngest how to write his name in hieroglyphics on a piece of paper and he was obsessed for days. The older one was into the history especially the Greek influences at some of the temples which she had just learned about in school. The entrance fees were covered which saved us from constant decisions about what to pay for. We spent about an hour at most sites which was just right before anyone got bored. The atmosphere on the boat was super family friendly with other kids onboard. The crowd was small maybe twenty people total including another family. The staff were amazing with children bringing them fruit and telling them stories. Best for families who want a real experience without the stress of logistics.

I felt like an explorer on this trip
I have always wanted to feel like an explorer and this delivered. The Dahabiya took us off the main path. We visited a temple that was almost empty with layers of history Egyptian Greek Roman all there. The guide showed us details we would have missed. All admissions were included. I spent two hours there just wandering. The atmosphere was adventurous. The crowd was tiny. The staff made me feel like part of the crew. Best for solo explorers.

We finally relaxed after years of busy life
My wife and I run our own business and we haven't had a real holiday in five years. This trip forced us to slow down in the best way. The Dahabiya has no engine noise most of the time just wind and water. We sat on deck and watched the riverbanks slide by for hours without saying a word just holding hands. One evening we docked near a small town and walked up to a temple that was lit up beautifully. The guide told us about the different layers of history and we stood there in the quiet just taking it in. All admissions were included and we spent maybe ninety minutes there. The atmosphere was calm and intimate perfect for reconnecting. There were only a handful of other guests so we had plenty of private space. The staff were discreet but always there when we needed something. Best for couples who are exhausted and need to remember what quiet feels like.

Our family of five had the best time
Traveling with three kids is chaos usually but this trip was smooth. The Dahabiya meant no packing and unpacking. We woke up somewhere new every day. One temple had a crocodile museum attached and the kids loved it. The guide was patient with all their questions. All admissions were included. We spent about an hour at each site. The atmosphere was easy and fun. The boat was small and we got to know everyone. The staff helped with everything. Best for families who want stress free travel.

Five guys and a boat on the Nile
We are a group of five mates from university and we try to do one trip a year. This was by far the most unique. The combination of Cairo chaos then the train then the absolute peace of the Dahabiya was a journey in itself. We spent a whole afternoon just jumping off the boat into the Nile which the crew encouraged. One day we visited a temple that had crocodile mummies and Roman era paintings mixed in with the Egyptian stuff. Our guide was a historian and made it all come alive. The admission fee was included and we stayed maybe two hours there. The vibe was adventurous and laid back at the same time. The boat was never crowded just us and a few others and the staff were legends always keeping the drinks coming. Best for friends who want something they will talk about for years.

Our family adventure on the Nile was perfect
I booked this trip for my wife and two kids thinking it might be too long but honestly we didn't want to leave. The moment we stepped on the Dahabiya I felt all the stress from work just disappear. We spent five days just sailing slowly watching villages pass by and waving at kids on the shore. My son who is ten still talks about the night we slept on the deck under the stars. The guide Mohamed was brilliant with the kids explaining hieroglyphics like a game. We visited temples that had almost no other tourists because the boat is small enough to dock anywhere. The entrance fees were all included so no surprises. Each site we spent about an hour which was perfect for keeping everyone engaged. The atmosphere on the boat was super relaxed like floating in a dream. We were only ten people on board so it never felt crowded. The staff remembered our names from day one and always had cold drinks ready. This trip is best for families who want real connection not just a checklist of sights.

We watched the world go by from the deck
Sometimes the best part of a trip is doing nothing. On the Dahabiya we did nothing perfectly. We sat on deck and watched villages farms and desert pass by. One afternoon we docked and walked to a small temple that had Roman era paintings. The guide told us the story. All admissions were included. We spent maybe an hour there. The atmosphere was pure relaxation. The boat was uncrowded and peaceful. The staff brought us tea and let us be. Best for couples who need to do nothing together.

I came alone and left with memories for life
This was my first big solo trip and it set the bar high. The Dahabiya felt like a sanctuary. I read slept and thought. We visited temples that blended cultures in amazing ways and the guide brought it all to life. All admissions were included. I spent around two hours at each place soaking it in. The atmosphere was restorative. The crowd was small and interesting. The staff were like family by the end. Best for anyone taking that first solo step.

A dream come true walking back into history
I was able to make a few customizations to this tour by working with the agency. As I had already visited Cairo and Giza earlier and I wanted an overnight visit to Abu Simbel to see the evening light show and see the temples at sunrise. They took very good care of me on the whole trip. The Dahabiya cruise was exactly what I dreamed of. My guide Dr. Said was a PhD Egyptologist and escorted me to Al the temples. He was a font of information that made history come alive for me. I very much enjoyed the semi custom itinerary.
