世界大戦や自然災害の際の大きな被害を奇跡的に回避したヤナカと根津は、東京の旧市街である下町を構成する2つの地区であり、前世紀の魅力を保持しています。下町の狭い路地、伝統的な木造家屋、居酒屋パブ、雰囲気のあるコーヒーショップ、古いスタイルのスイーツやスナックを販売するレトロな店に囲まれた谷中墓地や根津神社などの史跡があります。ここでは、ゆっくりとしたペースでより上品な東京に時間をさかのぼることができます。
1706年に建てられた根津神社は、大規模な江戸時代の神社建築の優れた例です。見事に対照的な朱色と金の漆塗りの「権現造り」スタイルの建物が特徴で、重要文化財としての指定は正当化されているようです。また、神社の境内にあるツツジ園2,000坪（約6,600平方メートル）のツツジ園も注目を集めています。 3,000のツツジの約50種類を収容するこの庭園には、毎年春に多くの観光客が訪れます。

Yusuke was an amazing guide! He gracefully showed us some truly off the beaten path, quieter, more historical parts of Tokyo, and it was a delight. He knows the historical bits you want to know. Any request, big or small, he made happen, including getting a video of the Shikesen for my grandson who loves trains, to taking me to an antique shop and being my translator on a purchase. He even escorted us to a show we had booked. It was a perfect day in Tokyo for us!

I'm not a first time visitor to Tokyo so I was intrigued by "off the beaten path". The key was to chat with the guide in advance and get recommendations. And where you go may depend on where you are staying (Ginza 8 in our case). Based on this our guide was able to propose a 6 hour tour to places we had not been before, so it was "off OUR beaten path"! Thank you Ayaka for a very enjoyable day.
I was travelling with my mother & thought a walking tour in the heritage areas of Tokyo would be a great introduction on our first day. Our guide Asushi put together an itinerary based on our preferences & to suit the needs of my 83 yr old mother. Asushi was a caring & generous guide who wanted to make the most of our day. We only had 1 day in Tokyo not enough time to fulfill everything but Kenzo provided us with an itinerary which was varied and gave us a fabulous insight into this lovely city. We visited a Shrine, a Temple, a Japanese Garden and the Shibuya crossing amongst other things. He even booked lunch for us in a small tempura cafe, which people were queuing to get into and was delicious. Very enjoyable and great use of the subway. Highly recommended

Customization based on our interest and truly away from the busy travel spots. Our guide, Kabo, was excellent and highly knowledgeable. He was great in communication and in planning the itinerary from the time we booked till we completed the trip. Kabo made us feel comfortable navigating multiple train lines and subways as we visited various parts of Tokyo on the first day of our trip. He was prompt, respectful and patiently and thoroughly explained the history of the places we went to - Fukagawa Edo, Nezu Shrine and the Shibamata Taishakuten. Highly recommend!
Was a wonderful walking tour. He customized it to what we wanted to see and included an authentic lunch where we sat on pillows on the floor. We really enjoyed the tour and his overall insight. We ended at the Cherry Blossom festival just as we had asked. I highly recommend this tour.
Amazing walking tour. The guide customizes your tour to what you most want to do. He is organized and is very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to restaurant where we experienced eating on the floor on mats and accommodated our son's dietary requirements. We asked to end at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Ueno Park. Wonderful day.
