We had a wonderful time with Ciro, who was every bit as entertaining as he was knowledgeable about Sorrento and its food culture, and highlighting its wonderful, sweet, huge lemons used for cooking and baking. He took us to five different sites, where we began with sampling cheeses and tastes of some southern Italy specialties, culminating in a sit down pasta meal with wine, on to a gelateria for lemon sorbet and finally to an outdoor cafe for a famous Lemon Delight, which was a lemon sponge cake filled and toured with lemon cream. It was amazing! While this was supposed to be a private tour, we were with one other couple and it turned out to be just a great experience! And the Pope was elected while we were together making it all the more memorable!
