Lisa, After several unpleasant messages, the last of which ended with “whatever,” this review was unfortunately not unexpected and not cancelled with no explanation. However, we do need to correct the facts. Your September 14 reservation was cancelled by you through Viator on June 9 — more than three months before the tour date. It was not cancelled by us “at the last minute.” Booking, cancelling and then attempting to rebook through a third-party platform such as Viator can become complicated, particularly when availability has changed. We do not control Viator’s booking system or the availability it displays after a guest has cancelled a reservation. We also did not tell you that you could take the tour the following day. The next day was Tuesday, September 15, and we do not operate this tour on Tuesdays and have not done so for years. We understand that travel plans can be frustrating when they don’t work out as hoped. However, the documented Viator booking history, our operating schedule and the message history are quite clear. Reviews should accurately reflect what occurred — particularly when stating who cancelled a reservation and what was actually communicated.

And thank you for mentioning the meeting point — it’s a helpful reminder for future guests to please read the Viator voucher in full before arriving. The meeting instructions include both the location and a description of the landmark: the yellow church in Piazza Tasso, the only church directly on Sorrento’s main square. Approx size of Piazza Tasso: 300 ft long × 100–150 ft wide. Piazza Tasso is the very heart of Sorrento and can certainly feel busy and a little overwhelming when you’ve just arrived, so having that landmark in mind makes finding us much easier. Ciao Eileen, Thank you for your feedback. We would, however, like to clarify a couple of points for future guests. Our tours are intentionally small and personal — there were only six guests in your group, including you. We pride ourselves on offering the opposite of the large cruise-style groups following flags and paddles, wearing stickers and listening through headsets. In fact, this small-group format is something our guests consistently tell us they specifically appreciate. Regarding finding your guide, the Viator voucher provides the meeting point and detailed directions, what to use for Google Maps, including a description of the landmark where we meet in Piazza Tasso which is a small square. We strongly encourage all guests to read their voucher and meeting instructions in full before arriving. Unfortunately, arriving after the scheduled meeting time can make locating a tour that has already begun more difficult. With a group of only seven people, we do not use earpieces or amplification, as the experience is designed to be conversational and interactive rather than a large-group walking tour. That said, if at any point you are having difficulty hearing, please let your guide know — we are always happy to adjust. Many guests bring or wear their own devices. We appreciate the feedback and hope this clarification is helpful to future guests when choosing between a small, personal food tour and a larger traditional group-tour format Grazie mille xx Tamara
