We had a great time on our Greenwich Village food tour with Dena! She was friendly, fun, and really knowledgeable about the neighborhood and the NYC food scene. We enjoyed our Secret Food Tour of Chinatown and Little Italy with Jason. He was relaxed, easy-going, and led an interesting tour that gave us a chance to see the highlights of both neighborhoods. Most of the food was very good, and Jason did an excellent job coordinating everything so that our food was ready when we arrived at each stop. The tour moved along smoothly without a lot of waiting around. One thing to be aware of when booking through Secret Food Tours: read the fine print regarding weather. The company’s policy is that tours go on rain or shine, with no cancellations or refunds because of rain. This is a company policy and, of course, not something within Jason’s control. We had light intermittent rain on the day of our tour and debated whether to go, but we’re glad we did. In fact, the rain probably worked in our favor because the streets were a little less crowded. Jason also did a nice job adapting the tour to the weather. Instead of having us eat our cannoli standing at the counter as originally planned, he arranged for us to have them seated inside a restaurant so we could stay dry. We really appreciated his thoughtfulness and flexibility. Overall, it was an enjoyable and interesting way to experience Chinatown and Little Italy, and Jason did a very good job as our guide. And as it turned out, a little rain didn’t hurt the experience at all.
Local places can say a lot about a city. We’re pleased you enjoyed discovering some of them with us and taking in the neighborhoods along the way. We hope those recommendations prove useful later!
Had a fantastic food tour of Greenwich village, NYC with Zach H. yesterday AM. Zach is new to the NYC tour scene but did a beautiful job of leading us to 6 tasty spots and explaining some unique facts and history of the area. Wonderful experience. Dena was interesting, knowledgeable and pleasant. Her pace was perfect. The food choices were outstanding. Loved the little side trips to see things unrelated to food. Fun and unexpected. Definitely recommend this tour.
