My son, nephew, and I spent a wonderful morning with Hiro on the Philosopher’s Path, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Kyoto. What made this experience special was not just the beautiful temples, gardens, and historic sites we visited, but Hiro himself. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to talk to. The pace was perfect—never rushed, never feeling like we were trying to check items off a list. Instead, it felt like spending the morning with a knowledgeable friend who genuinely loves Kyoto and enjoys sharing its history, culture, and philosophy with others. Throughout the tour, Hiro provided fascinating historical and cultural insights while also creating space for conversation and questions. Some of our favorite moments were simply the discussions we had along the way. His explanations added meaning and context to places that we otherwise would have simply walked past. We especially appreciated how flexible and attentive he was throughout the day. The experience felt personal rather than scripted, and he made everyone feel comfortable and engaged. If you are looking for a deeper and more meaningful way to experience Kyoto, I highly recommend spending time with Hiro. By the end of the tour, we felt like we had gained not only a better understanding of Kyoto, but also a greater appreciation for the ideas and history that shaped it. Top class..Highly recommended for walking, talking and thinking

Hiro is an exceptional guide and our time with him flew by learning about Pureland Buddhism and Shinto beliefs whilst visiting ancient temples and serene Zen Gardens. Our tour felt more like an inspiring discussion and exchange amongst friends. Hiro took good care to incorporate our interests and we even had lunch together in his favourite restaurant. I'd highly recommend joining this philosopher's tour - a great experience.

Hiro was a wonderful guide, taking us to all of the important places along the philosophers path and also to many of the hidden areas that tourists would likely miss. His knowledge of philosophy and religion really helped educate us. I highly recommend taking this tour.

This was such a wonderful tour! It’s a must. Hiroki was a great tour guide. He’s so well informed, so knowledgeable and so kind. We had a beautiful day. The path of the tour he took us on was beautiful and perfect for us. Definitely wear comfortable shoes. Definitely take your camera because everything is so beautiful. We also had delicious food that Hiroki picked for us. The day was really wonderful and for most of the day it rained on us and it was still one of our favorite tours of our trip. We spent 4 days with our “Hero”. His impressive knowledge of japanese history and culture were amazing. Also, he is excellent at time management for the tours, and extremely flexible to make you happy doing what you really wish to do, without sacrificing the quality of the cultural experience. Furthermore, he is very amicable, witty, and funny. We feel like we have known him for years. Can’t wait to come back to Japan for another tour with “Hero”.

Our guide, Hiro, was simply amazing. He had a wealth of knowledge and insight. I really appreciated the philosophical portion of the tour and it was a pleasure discussing different philosophical viewpoints with Hiro. I felt like I was on a journey with a friend.
