I really enjoyed this tour! We got to taste 5 very different Takoyaki from 5 different restaurants and they were all delicious. Our tour guide, Tomoka, was also great as she gave fun facts about the area as we went through. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Osaka!
We hopped around five different takoyaki spots in Dotonbori and tried two pieces at each — 10 takoyaki in total! 🐙 You can choose between a classic sauce & mayo or a different special flavor at each stop, which made the whole experience even more fun. Our guide also gave us some cool background on each shop, along with stories about Dotonbori and its history. Two hours, five shops, and a very happy stomach!😂 Definitely worth trying if you’re exploring Dotonbori!

It was really nice to see how each shop had its own style and how different the flavors and toppings could be even though they were all serving takoyaki. My personal favorite was the one made with white wine and topped with cheese—it was such a unique combination and definitely something I had never tried before! Our guide was very friendly and made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. Even though I’ve been living in Osaka for a while, I still discovered something new about one of the city’s most iconic foods. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Osaka, especially if you love food and want to try different styles of takoyaki instead of just stopping at one shop. I didn't expect takoyaki to be this different. Before participating, I honestly thought takoyaki was the same no matter where you ate it. But when I actually compared them, the softness of the dough, the way they were baked, the sauce, and the toppings were completely different. Because I kept eating it, I could clearly see the difference.

At each shop, you can choose between a standard takoyaki and a takoyaki unique to that shop, so you can enjoy a variety of flavors! Also, since they provided special takoyaki packs of two per store, I could easily walk around and eat at five stores. It was also good that I could move smoothly through the shops with almost no waiting time. Guide Naoya was very easy to talk to, and he got everyone excited not just with takoyaki stories, but with various other topics as well. Our guide Nagoya was super friendly and made the whole group feel welcome from the start. The atmosphere was really warm and fun throughout the tour. The best part: you get to try takoyaki from the most famous spots in Dotonbori, two pieces at each place, without waiting in line.
