We saw the Big Five, including excellent views of leopard, elephants, lions and buffalo. The Masai Mara really does feel like a wildlife paradise abundant animals and classic savannah scenery everywhere you look. We then spent time at Lake Nakuru, staying at Sarova Woodlands. The lodge was excellent, modern, well-maintained and in a beautiful setting. Wildlife highlights included many rhinos and huge numbers of pelicans, along with a rich variety of other birds. It’s an absolute must for anyone who enjoys birdwatching. A thoroughly enjoyable safari with strong guiding, good lodges and outstanding animal sightings. Flexivel Kenya Safaris did a great job.

Lake Nakuru was beautiful with all the flamingos, and the boat ride on Lake Naivasha was pure magic, so peaceful and the hippos and birds were right there. Huge shout out to our guide George. We did a 5-day group safari with 8 of us sharing a Land Cruiser, mainly because it fit our budget. Guide Peter was with us the whole time and honestly made the trip. He knew the parks well, spotted animals quickly, and kept things relaxed and fun without rushing. Sharing the vehicle meant we got to know the other people in the group, and by the end we had made some good friends. Conversations flowed easily during the long drives and game drives. There were a few delays along the way waiting for others, slower progress in places – so just be aware that group safaris aren’t always on a strict schedule. That said, for the price we paid it was easily the best option. We still saw plenty of wildlife and had a solid experience overall. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly safari and don’t mind sharing a Land Cruiser with a small group, this is worth considering. Peter was a big reason it worked so well for us.
