Our second “cruise” in Ha Long Bay. The Peony ship is very good and the staff are excellent. We had a suite at the back of the ship and it was spacious and well appointed with a large bathroom and spa tub and a large, private balcony. There was a lot of night time noise with the ship’s generator and random, sharp noises. Meals were of a very good standard with a good selection, but avoid the beef dishes as the cuts are low quality and very tough. We didn’t do any of the off-ship experiences as we just wanted to relax, which we certainly did. The drinks are expensive so plan your budget accordingly (there is a 4.5% loading for credit card payments). The word “cruise” is a misnomer as the ship simply transits between the pickup point and the night mooring position (along with dozens of other ships). The tender transfer from the harbour to the ship took 50 minutes sitting on a hard, wooden bench crammed in like sardines. If I do another Ha Long Bay cruise I would select a cruise ship that departs from the bay and doesn’t require a long tender transfer.

Great experience, from pick to drop off, all the staff were amazing and we had a fun time . The boat was fantastic everything you need was onboard. The food was top restaurant quality.

The cruise was exceptional from start to finish! The boat was beautiful, the staff (especially Harry) went out of their way to meet our needs and the excursions were wonderful!!

Had an amazing experience at the cruise. We asked for vegetarian food and they took care of that very beautifully. We were on our honeymoon and they made it special. The staff was super sweet and helpful throughout the stay.

The staff were superb, the food was great, and a nice mix of activities to opt in to on the trip. The team made is very special for us on our anniversary, and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable - definitely recommend!The cruise was really nice! The staff was very attentive. The cruise was exceptional. Our cabin was luxurious; we were so impressed with the cruise boat - it was stunning. The meals were awesome. The Chef catered to my rather boring choices of food while my partner thoroughly enjoyed everything on the menu. A birthday cake was presented to him by the whole staff during our dinner service - they walked the room with his cake singing Happy Birthday :) They staff were awesome, so friendly and helpful. Especially Maya (Van) we can not thank her enough for taking care of us during our cruise.

Very well organised tour company.Everything about this trip exceeded my hopes and goal to see this extraordinary bucketing place. The cruise was beautifully orchestrated with travel, views, meals and extras. The massage was a bonus, eliminating physical pain I thought I needed to live with. My room was exceptional. All the staff were delightful and highly professional. I did the shared transport from Hanoi, loving the opportunity to see the countryside from an air-conditioned comfy van.

The boat is completely new, on the outside it does not show what is inside. The decor very nice and tasteful. The room is spectacular, nothing to object to. The dining room and the food very good, as did the Service. I highly recommend it.

Horrible experience. Extremely irresponsible company. We got there at 1130 and after 45 minutes of waiting they tell us it may be getting cancelled and that they would update us again at 1pm. At 1.10 pm we had to over hear a conversation between their staff and another customer to find out that it was officially cancelled. No announcement, no one to tell us what happened. From then on we had to beg their crew to talk to us and explain the situation as well as how to get home. After waiting for around 1.5hours they finally get to us saying the bus will be arranged and will show up in 20 minutes. After 45 minutes it hadn’t arrived. When it finally arrives we board the bus and wait another 30 minutes for no reason. We witnessed another group of customers miss their flight that was booked after the cancellation of the trip. Horrendous experience with an uncaring and incompetent crew. If the weather was so bad I don’t know why they didn’t cancel it the night before. The weather was exactly as forecasted. In addition they said they knew there was a high chance of cancellation so I’m still confused why they didn’t organize a plan in the case of cancellation due to bad weather. Completely wasted a whole day of our trip waiting around doing nothing. In addition, we were picked up from Hanoi at 8am and reached Hanoi at 6pm on the same day. During which the only food provided was a few measly pack of chips. Completely unacceptable and all of us were starving the whole way through.

We loved our time on the Peony Cruise in Halong Bay. The staff were amazing. We were taken good care of by ‘Super’ Mario. The food was amazing! 5-course meals. You definitely don’t need to pack any extra snacks. The activities were great too. Such a stunning location.
