Simona was awesome guide…very knowledgeable and very accommodating. had great recommendations and ensured we were able to see all we wanted and more! Took my mom and dad and were able to accommodate for more limited walking.

I cannot comment on the quality of the tour as our Marseille cruise port stop was abruptly cancelled the night before due to striking workers in France. I informed the tour operator immediately and received this response ... "We understand the cancellation, but unfortunately, this service will be charged. You can file a claim with the cruise company. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are considered a no-show" So rather than simply refunding my payment due to this "force majeure", they want me to go through all the paperwork to maybe get a refund from the cruise company several weeks later. In my judgment and experience, that's just bad business ... and bad customer service. I would suggest you find another tour operator that cares more about the customer ... and less about the money.

The visit to the old Basket district by little train was pleasant. The night view of the historic port from the roof terrace was magnificent.

Alain was a great tour guide, knowledgeable and friendly. He was so helpful, e. g., securing lunch reservations and helping to track down a lost item. The next time we are in the area we will definitely contact him for another tour of the area!

This was a wonderful experience! We really enjoyed our private tour with Pierre. He was very knowledgeable and considerate. We saw all of the highlights of Marseille and had enough time to get all of the pictures that we wanted. The vehicle was clean and we were provided water as we entered.

Great experience. Jean Mechelle was a fabulous driver. He took us to several good places in Marseille and was flexible to let us try a few places we suggested. Would use again!!

Dear Viator Rep, This tour had two significant issues, although the Driver was a very well-mannered professional and we did manage to make it an enjoyable success. First, somehow there was a miss-understanding whereby the tour company did not arrange to pick us up from the cruise ship. This is what we signed up for and expected, being our first time to Marseilles. Unfortunately, we had to take a taxi, which cost us 40 euros, to meet the driver on the far side of the Old Port at an uncomfortable side street. This small, tight, under construction side street location, of course, had our wives concerned and me uncertain, when I had to inquire with a person standing on the sidewalk if he was our contact (no sign or indication that he was). We held the taxi until we verified the driver was from the tour company and had the tour information for our party. Pier, the driver, was a very courteous and professional individual, friendly and likable. However, he had no recommended tour agenda, just asking us what we wanted to do/see, therefore, mostly providing the role of a chauffeur, that we would dialogue with to see what there might be to our interest. Then he would respond by identifying a location that may be of interest. This is not what a private tour in this price range should provide to a group that has never been in the country. Ultimately through continued inquiry and discussion with Pier, we did get to identify a good number of sites of interest that we were pleased with, had a nice sandwich/bakery stop, and enjoyed the visit. Also, Pier was kind enough to return us to the ship, he definitely was a great individual to provide the service. The one thing I will request is that we be reimbursed for our 40 euro cost. Excellent driver, and very interesting tour. It exceeded our expectations !!! We recommend this tour for anyone new to Marseille France.
