The Victoria Sabrina 3 night Yangtze River Cruise is a great value and remarkable way to see the scenic gorges along the way. The food and service was exceptional.
It was a wonderful tour. All program items and the care on the ship were excellent. Especially the care and reliability were top.
We’ve cruised many times with Disney, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean, so we boarded our first major river cruise with modest expectations—imagining a 3-star experience at best. The Victoria Isabella proved us completely wrong. It was magnificent. Ship and Itinerary - Ship: Victoria Isabella (brand new; maiden voyage September 2025) - Route: 4 days from Chongqing to Yichang - River: The Yangtze felt safe and calm the entire way, making the journey relaxing and smooth Suite - We booked the Shangri-La Suite (there are only two on the ship) - Extremely spacious with a full-sized jacuzzi, a balcony, king bed, and a cozy den - Website photos are accurate—what you see is exactly what you get Dining - Excellent food and drinks with lots of Western and Chinese options - Menus change daily—never repetitive, always fresh and well-prepared - Service in the restaurant was top-notch Scenery, History, and Experiences - The scenery is gorgeous, and the stops are rich in history - Must-see: Romance of the Three Kingdoms show—over 200 performers, with horses, flying wires, and even “running on water.” It’s in Chinese, but the visuals are incredible and English-speaking guides explain the highlights - The Three Gorges Project: Passing the Three Gorges Dam (near Yichang) and navigating its ship locks was a highlight. It’s one of the largest engineering projects in human history, providing hydroelectric power, improved navigation, and flood control—an amazing contrast between modern engineering and ancient landscapes - Context: The Yangtze has been China’s lifeline for millennia, driving trade, agriculture, and culture. The Three Kingdoms era (3rd century CE)—famous for its rival warlords and epic strategies—shaped many sites along this route, adding depth to what you see from the deck Service - Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly - Special thanks to Tom Pang (Director of Program) and Karen Cheng (Restaurant Manager) for outstanding hospitality Safety - We felt safe throughout—on board and ashore—with none of the pickpocket concerns we’ve experienced in some European tourist hubs - The river conditions were calm and comfortable Bottom Line As frequent ocean cruisers (Disney, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean), we were blown away by the Victoria Isabella’s blend of polish and intimacy. This trip exceeded our expectations across the board—accommodations, dining, scenery, cultural depth, and service. Highly recommended for friends and family, young and old. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
My wife and I recently joined Victoria Jenna for a three-day cruise as part of a longer tour of China. We enjoyed our time on the boat and would recommend the cruise. We paid for the upgraded catering package which may have been expensive, but the food and the service were excellent. However, one incident marred our enjoyment. We booked on the optional Top of the Gorges Tour and were sent off with a largely Chinese group and a Chinese speaking guide who spoke no English. On the Peak we followed along dutifully, not understanding one word of the commentary. Eventually, I stopped her to ask what was going on. She realised the problem and called a fellow guide who spoke English and explained where we had to go and the time to meet the bus. This was helpful but we did miss out on all the commentary. Although quite a minor blip in the overall cruise it was the attitude of the company that annoyed me. We were sent on this trip knowing there would be a communication issue, finding ourselves on the mountain not knowing where to walk or the time to return. Apart from being discourteous this had Health & Safety implications. At the very least we should have been given the option to cancel. We effectively paid 560 Yuan for a bus ride to top the mountain and back. Overall though, we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise; being on the Yangtze is a once in a lifetime experience and everything in China is on a different scale that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Apart from the one issue I have nothing but positives to report.
Late arrival and sales .upgrade room, upgrade food. Drink packages from $85.free water a tea and coffee with the 3 meals starting 2nd day. foreigners have to prepare tips! Chinese don.t, Overall trip o
An unforgettable experience: a river cruise on the Yangtze River is a must for anyone traveling to China. Andy’s service was exceptional, with excellent communication and quick responses to every question. He took great care of us, ensuring we had a smooth and enjoyable journey. The breathtaking landscapes and historical landmarks we encountered made this trip truly memorable
My family of 4 including myself embarked on the 4 Day, 3 Night trip on the Victoria Jenna ship. Food: Luke-warm, sometimes cold, gross. Service: The waitstaff definitely tried their best but for a ship marketed as English & Mandarin, none of them spoke English. Announcements and the two river guides spoke Chinese and good-enough English. Rooms & Bathrooms: The rooms were not clean and upon arrival there was a giant tuft of hair on a chair which would’ve easily been spotted if the room was cleaned properly. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. They were dirty, moldy, musty, and rusty. The entire room is very old and needs updating. Day trips: The first day they took us to a fake temple site and had multiple guides yelling over each other in Chinese and English on their microphones so no one could hear anything. The second day was fine. The third day was horrendous-they canceled the ship lift over the dam and the dam tour we did have was so boring and pointless. The incessant screaming over the loudspeaker at all times of day and night preventing anyone from sleeping, relaxing, or simply not having someone yell at you in your room, in common spaces, and even outside on the deck at all times. We received so many LOUD ringing phone calls (the phone itself is already very loud but it rings in the bathroom as well, LOUDLY) at 6am, 10pm, and more for no reason at all—-usually followed by the (most likely) front desk just hanging up. Every trip was horribly crowded and no one was able to learn any of the information from the local guides because they all yelled over each other. My family and I were thrilled to get off this ship.
Dear sir/madam, I think you have posted to the wrong business listing. We didn't book anything for you and if you unhappy about your tour or cruise ride, please post your comments to the company that you have booked. Thank you very much. Best regards Andy
Andy organized the tour for us and he did a really great Job. Everything was perfect and reliable. We enjoyed the Cruise so much and took a lot of photos. The sightseeing spots of the tour were amazing . Food and entertainment were great . We recommand this tour definitively.
