To board this ship in Chongqing, we walked down a long staircase to reach a floating walkway that led out to the ship. That walkway was uneven in places. We thought the crew of the ship were great. The large majority of the ship (85%+) were Chinese, but there were a number of other nationalities aboard. The included shore excursions each day were offered in both Chinese and English with the passengers divided up so they could have a guide that spoke their language. A program of activities each day (in English and Chinese) was printed and delivered to cabins, available at the front desk and also displayed on large TVs on each floor. Several different drink packages were offered, but we thought they were priced too high for the limited amount of time we were aboard. A red and white wine along with one beer were available in the restaurant for no cost during both lunch and dinner. We did book the one optional excursion (a nighttime show about the Three Kingdoms which was great). We also upgraded to the VIP dining room (798 yuan per person) which was less crowded and had a few dishes that were not available in the main dining room. There was commentary in both English and Chinese on the top deck as we sailed through the river gorges. The ship had plentiful bottled water available free of charge at a table on every deck.
It was on the Century Oasis. With a supplement we benefited from the 4th level and the VIP restaurant. It was very decent , the room was superb but the Self Service meals were nothing extraordinary. Unfortunately the visits were lame.
Dear Customer, Thank you for your feedback, I will use that to improve my service. Best regards Andy
Our journey from Chongqing to the 3 gorges dam was absolutely first class. We cannot recommend this experience with Century Cruises enough. The ship and its appointments were excellent and always immaculate. The crew were friendly and professional at all times. We were just smitten with the cabin and the quality of food and amenities on board. We particularly want to thank our chief steward/purser and cruise director Stephen who ran such an efficient operation and was always available for questions and a chat. His crew of house staff were a credit to him and faultless. Always on the ball, efficiency with a smile. Thank you all!! We have already recommended this trip to everyone we have met after our return. It was one of the unforgettable highlights of our 3 week trip.
The Century Oasis is the luxary cruise ship made in 2023 for cruising on the Yangtze river. We enjoyed the entire cruise and found eveything- the facilities, rooms and amenities satisfactory. Only thing we believe and its just oour opinion, it's over crowded. The services were well coordinated by the manager Allan and his well trained young crew. Allan is talented and was very friendly and accommodating. Foods were excellent. Some dishes which were new to us have been tasty and yummy. Excursion options have been good and as everyone is different can find some positive and some negative things. In summary we had very enjoyable trip on mighty Yangtze. Many thanks to everyone who made our trip so entertaining and enjoyable.
We were on the boat and drove the 5 day tour to Chonqing. The ship is newly renovated and it was all perfect . Even when boarding the reception was very warm and we were superbly looked after , Allan the chefsteward has everything arranged ! Cabins clean , staff more than friendly and the food is too plentiful and good that you really have to pay attention to the figure here ! Program for shore departures always well organized and balanced !
Our Century Voyage Yangtze River cruise was an extraordinary journey that combined breathtaking scenery, cultural enrichment, and impeccable service. Sailing through the gorges was an awe-inspiring experience, offering a close-up view of some of China’s most stunning natural wonders. The onboard commentary added depth to the journey, enhancing our appreciation of the region's history, culture, and geography. Although the weather prevented us from seeing the last gorge, the overall experience was unforgettable. The ship was a haven of comfort, with well-appointed rooms and fantastic dining options on the 4th floor VIP area, where Lucky, Alex, Via, Brian, Max, Ember, and Fiona provided warm and professional service throughout our stay. Carter ensured our room remained immaculate and stocked, adding to the overall comfort. General Manager Johnny deserves special mention for his exceptional leadership and personal dedication to enriching the experience for every guest. His knowledge and passion made the trip even more memorable. We highly recommend the Century Voyage to anyone looking for an unforgettable Yangtze River cruise filled with natural beauty, cultural insights, and outstanding service.
We had a very relaxed and peaceful 44 days 3 nights cruise from chongqing to Yichang. We upgraded to executive suites so we get to access an executive lounge which serves drinks and snacks 24 hours and not opened to public. We stayed on the 6th deck and we get to dine on executive restaurant. The suite was spacious and came with a bathtub! Shower was great too. We slept well every night. And they assigned a manager to take care of us during the cruise and he was very attentive and caring. He would update and send us reminders from time to time. We do not speak much Mandarin but did not struggle much during our trip. Food was very good as the chef was such a professional that he never repeated any dishes throughout our breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every meal was a feast. Worth every penny we paid for. But older folks need to take note that they need to climb quite some stairs up and down during the cruise. Need to be assisted. If not able to climb stairs, can opt to stay on board. Massage and heated pool are good too
Walked down ramp to get only our Century Oasis cruise ship which was built in 2023. Our room was spacious with a king bed (very hard), four large pillows and a nice comforter. Had to put one bag on the chair and one on the floor. Nice desk with lamp and electrical outlets. An in-room safe and electric tea pot were provided. The bathroom was spacious with a nice walk-in shower with a door. We were near the bow of the ship. There were cabins on floors 2,3, &4 and suites on deck 5. Only one lounge on deck 4 aft and two areas to sit out aft on decks 6 & 7. Buffet style food served on decks 2,3, & was less than satisfactory. Most times the hot food was lukewarm, at best. Personnel on the ship were very nice but few knew any English. Conversation was mostly by Google Translate.
My husband and I did the Yangtze River Cruise on the on the Century Glory and it was excellent. The room was large and comfortable, the scenery beautiful, and we (mostly) enjoyed the excursions. The cruise director ensured that we generally had English-speaking guides on the outings, and also made sure that I had fantastic vegetarian meals for lunch and dinner (breakfast was fine, and I should say that my husband thought the buffet was great).
We did the Yangtze River cruise and enjoyed the tour including the Qutang and Wu Gorge Gorges. For lack of water on the River was not to board in Chongqing where it was planned at the beginning and it took us to do a few hours by coach to leave later, are unpredictable things of nature. The ship Century Victory is quite good, the spacious rooms, with balcony, sofa and desk. The free buffet not very varied but acceptable food, very nice and attentive staff, all very young. My admiration for the carriers of goods, nurseries and luggage who have to go up and down on very steep slopes and with many stairs, it would not hurt if they could facilitate elevators and / or forklifts. We did some optional excursions that we liked, I recommend the boat ride on the river Shennv
