Book this sort of activity early in your stay otherwise you will have tried most of the food already and walk around the city on your own.

This tour consisted of five stops for: 1. Sausage, bread and one glass of wine. 2. Half a sandwich each and tap water. 3. One pastel de nata each (eaten on the street). 4. Half a sandwich each (very similar to the first one), one cod fritter each and a small beer (we asked for wine but was told that was too expensive, eventually we managed to get wine for half of us) 5. Port tasting. Most of the restaurants didn’t seem to be expecting us. One of the restaurants seemed to be a fast food/chain type restaurant. The service was really poor for the second sandwich place, even getting some tap water took ages and asking for wine on a wine tour and being told it was too expensive so only beer was included was embarrassing and awkward. The port experience at the end was good. The guide seemed nice enough but wasn’t able to give much history of the location or food - although how much history there is to a plain meat sandwich on cheap white bread is debatable. I’d expect a tour of this quality to cost about 20euros per person so it seemed grossly over priced.

We tasted some very nice food and wine. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and we learnt a lot about food and wine in Port. Our guides were very good.

Great food and wine! Our locations were all relatively close to each other so not a lot of walking but cute, quaint places with excellent wine and food!

Good variety of food on the tour, plenty of drinks, and a great guide! Manuela was super friendly and open to all questions about Portuguese food and culture. We also had a great group. I’d recommend keeping an eye on your WhatsApp because I had my notifications off and originally missed the welcome message to find her, but we figured it out after a few minutes and it was all good from there.

We had a fantastic time with our guide Anderson and with new friend! After a couple classes of wine, everyone becomes best friends! We enjoyed the variety of delicious and traditional foods and drinks, and walking and learning about the area, the history, and Portuguese culture.
