Booked this excursion before we travelled to Tenerife in the travel agents. Nice day out for the price and food. You get the chance to go swimming in the sea. The only draw back I can think of is that this excursion is very busy and the amount of people on-board is a little too much. Was great seeing the flying fish as well as the whales and dolphins.

Recommended with reservations.
Nice proposal, Los Gigantes and pilot whale watching, impressive.
On the downside, long excursion, tourists at their worst in terms of behavior, which negatively affects the activity.

Horrendous
The worst experience we have ever had. Overcrowded, extremely unpleasant. So many people being sick. We will never take this trip again. If our experience is anything to go by, avoid this trip , a complete and utter con!!

Dear guest,
We are sorry that you did not enjoy your excursion, but we must respectfully disagree with describing our service as a “complete and utter con.”
Royal Delfín operates in accordance with its authorised passenger capacity and all applicable maritime safety requirements. In fact, Tenerife Dolphin voluntarily limits the number of passengers below the vessel’s maximum capacity. A busy excursion may certainly feel different from the smaller-group experience some guests prefer, but that does not mean the vessel is overcrowded beyond its permitted capacity.
Regarding the passengers who were seasick, unfortunately this can happen when sailing on the Atlantic Ocean. Seasickness is caused by the movement of the vessel and individual susceptibility to motion, not by the number of passengers on board. Seeing several people feeling unwell therefore does not indicate that the boat was overcrowded or operating improperly.
Royal Delfín is clearly presented as a large whale-watching catamaran, not a small-group or private excursion, so we appreciate that this type of experience may not suit everyone.
You are completely entitled to say that you found the excursion busy or unpleasant and that you would not choose it again. However, calling a legitimate excursion that operated as advertised a “con” is a very different statement, and one we do not consider a fair representation of the service provided.

Busy
We're picked up from bar leonardos bus stop , bus was about 20 mins late, got to the marina , massive queue, was thinking at that point hiw we were all guna fit on the boat !
Took ages to get on the boat because everyone had to have there photo taken , no seats upstairs , no seats downstairs , managed to find a seat at the back of the boat were after just 10 minutes they lowered the back for everyone to get off for a swim.
The trip was good it was a nice coastal tour but would have been better if they hadn't packed us on like sardines .

Overcrowded and expensive
First and most importantly, take a box of Dramamine, it moves quite a bit, there were more people with a bag in their hand than looking at the scenery, the staff is attentive and professional, drinks and food are included, three-delight rice with meatballs and salad with a banana, the beer is terrible, the soft drinks are okay.
The trip is fine, they take you to the Los Gigantes cliffs and leave you for a while to take a swim, then they take you to see pilot whales and dolphins, a 4.5-hour trip, but if you are one of those who get seasick on a boat, this is not the place for you because it moves a lot and it will feel very long.

Worth every penny
Fantastic experience. We saw pilot whales, flying fish and dolphins. Which is what we went for. Throughout the lady gave a commentary which was interesting without too much waffle, including the places we were passing and where to look as the whales etc moved around the boat. Although full there was plenty of space. The hulls of the catamaran had windows below the waterlevel which gave great views of the whales swimming past
There was endless drinks available and lunch was served. The crew were very friendly and helpful, they kept the toilets spotless.
If/when I return to Tenerife I would definitely do it again

Long trip with little substance
It surprises me that TUI Musement offers something like this without any information about the mass-processing perfection. We went on the tour on 07/27. Pick-up by bus from the hotel, then a 1-hour drive for 6.2 miles; we took a taxi for the trip back. The boat was fully loaded with people from 4 buses. The boat itself has seen better days. Now we were sitting like sardines upstairs and downstairs and off we went. Drinks were free - beer from juice pitchers, sangria from a kitchen tap, and soft drinks, as usual, from the drink bar. The food after half an hour. Trip on the Atlantic in a bay where one could swim at the same time - was very simple. The table for the plate was our own legs. The line at the food service was longer than the boat due to the many people. Afterwards, we continued at full throttle across the Atlantic, so that some passengers lost the cheap food again. Here is the information in the description that people who are even the slightest bit sensitive should avoid this tour or not eat anything before or during the tour. The only thing we liked about this tour was the sight of the dolphins in the last half hour of the tour. Conclusion: anyone looking for a somewhat sophisticated trip to see the dolphins should look elsewhere. And a TIP for TUI Musement, please warn the vacationers as described.

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are pleased that you enjoyed seeing the dolphins, although we are sorry that other aspects of the excursion did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the transfer, the journey time depends entirely on the location of each hotel and the number of scheduled pick-up points. We also expect our sales partners to communicate these transfer times clearly before booking.
Concerning the number of passengers, we operate under strict legal capacity regulations and voluntarily limit passenger numbers below the vessel's maximum authorised capacity. Summer is naturally the busiest season in Tenerife, and as with many of the island's attractions, excursions are in high demand during this period. Nevertheless, the Royal Delfín is a spacious catamaran with several viewing areas spread across different decks, allowing passengers to move freely throughout the excursion.
We were also surprised by your comment that the boat travelled "at full speed." In reality, when searching for cetaceans, our vessel navigates at normal cruising speed, and once animals are located, we approach them in accordance with the strict whale-watching regulations in force. Passenger safety and the welfare of the animals are always our priorities.
Regarding the meal, it is a complimentary service included in the excursion. We appreciate that tastes differ, but the focus of the experience is whale and dolphin watching in their natural habitat, together with the scenery, the Atlantic Ocean and the time spent at sea, rather than the onboard meal itself.
Finally, while we understand that the excursion did not fully meet your expectations, we are pleased that you were able to enjoy one of Tenerife's greatest natural attractions by observing dolphins in the wild.
Kind regards,
Tenerife Dolphin

Dolphins and whales
Wasn't sure what to expect but needed an activity we hadn't done yet to break up the week. I stupidly missed the swimming and food part in the title. Whoops. We went out, there were loads of bottleneck dolphons and small whales. They were around the catamaran for about 15 minutes.
Swimming is half an hour while we stopped in a shallow bay for lunch.
Lunch was good, but is Spanish cuisine.
Next time I would book just a trip without lunch and swimming as three hours seemed to last forever. But that shouldn't detract from this being an great trip.
