My wife and I took a tour with Veiled Valley along with our two children (6 and 8). We wanted to give our kids an authentic experience of Vietnamese culture but also do so in a safe and comfortable way. Karen did a great job managing expectations and curating the right types of activities to fit our group. Starting in Hanoi, our tours and hotel that were set up for us were fantastic. Our kids had a great time, as did the adults. Once we moved up to Mai Chau, we loved the slow pace and beautiful scenery of the valley. Our hotel (Eco-Lodge) was comfortable and unique. We did many tours including the bike tour, family dinner, cooking class, waterfall tour, boat ride on a lake, and used the down time to enjoy the garden grounds of the hotel. Sidenote, the Eco-Lodge has great rates on massages at their spa. After long flights and days of travel, they were well needed and received! Highly recommend. Overall, we had a great time. Karen is a great guide. Does well keeping kids engaged and is able to communicate well. Her knowledge of the local culture also lends to in depth discussions and understanding of village life in Vietnam. If you want a luxurious yet authentic experience of Vietnamese culture, you will definitely want to book with Veiled Valley!
