Beautiful Views

Enjoyed this trip very much. Beautiful places to see. Overnight in an old fashioned hotel downtown Cork. Great food, friendly people.

Not good

TripAdvisor Review Getting to experience the Cliffs of Moher, the Blarney Stone, and others for this 2 day tour is satisfying. However, experiencing the poor communication from the tour operator and the horrendous accommodations places a scar on the experience. The tour guides/drivers were good but they have learned to give a referral response to talk with the office to anything not about the place we are visiting. Here are our concerns: 1. The poor communication from the operators of this tour was bad. The website identifies the same itinerary for both days. We had no idea where we were going, especially the 2nd day. 2. When we were dropped off in Cork for our over night stay, we were directed by the local office to the corner at the end of the street. The hotel was actually further down the street and across the street. We were never informed about the hotel which we found to be old and virtually uninhabitable. After killing the 2nd spider among other bugs seen, we decided to find other accommodations. We felt forced to pay for another hotel after already paying for the first hotel in the tour cost. It also did not help that there were 6 men loitering on the steps up to the hotel door making for an uncomfortable feeling. 3. The next morning we were directed by the local tour office that we would be picked up at the corner, where we were directed the day before. The tour bus was actually waiting all the way down the street past the hotel, which we could not see with other vehicles obscuring our view. It would have been helpful to be told to look for a bus number and be given the driver’s name. 4. During the morning of the 2nd day, we were told we would be dropped off at the last stop because that bus would be returning to Cork. We were left standing waiting in the parking lot because we were told the bus returning to Dublin would pick us up in about 15 minutes. Not until another tour bus driver told us to go find a seat because it would a while. It turns out we left 1 hour after we were dropped off. We had to wait because the Dublin returning bus had a group of people who were allowed to experience what we did earlier. There was nothing in the materials about being dropped off and switching buses. I cannot support recommending this 2 day tour. It would have been better to just take 2 one day tours.

Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Customer Service Experience

On April 2, 2024, I contacted the Paddywagon Tours Dublin office to book five tickets for my family. The customer service representative, Davi, handled my inquiry. During the call, I asked the following questions: 1. Group Discount: I inquired if there was a discount for groups. Davi responded with a blunt "No." 2. Front Seat Reservation: I asked if we could reserve the front seats on the bus. Again, Davi said, "No." 3. Alternative Options: I asked if there were any alternative options, such as paying extra for front seats. Davi loudly replied, "No." When I asked if it would be possible to check further, Davi said, "This is a policy. Did you get this?" I expressed my dissatisfaction with the tone and asked why I was being treated like this. Davi responded, "Because this is a policy, and I have to end the call," and hung up. I immediately called back to speak with another representative, but Davi answered again. I explained that as a customer service representative, they should not treat customers in this way. Davi became aggressive, loud, and said, "Go ahead and complain about me. My name is Davi, and I'll spell it for you. Raise a big complaint about me," and hung up again. I tried to call back, but Davi hung up for a third time. I then contacted the Cork office to report the issue and asked to speak with a manager. The representative took my number and assured me that someone would contact me shortly. However, it has been 48 hours, and I have yet to receive a call from Paddywagon Tours management. I also submitted feedback through their website, requesting a call back, but I have not received any response or call. I strongly advise against dealing with this company due to their extremely unprofessional customer service. Their lack of response to my complaints, both through their Cork office and on their website, demonstrates a clear disregard for customer concerns and feedback. This experience reflects poorly on the company and its commitment to customer satisfaction.

Ireland ❤️

Great tour/ saw what we were hoping to see. Friendly and helpful drivers. My only negative was the hotel we were out in. Very old, small, smelly, etc… they need to improve those accommodations. Overall good trip!

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! You can choose accommodations- nice hotel or hostel. But the driver and Paddywagon don’t know who’s where. They put backpackers who paid hundreds less in our hotel room and we got the crap accommodations. Like all the other MANY POOR REVIEWS- they won’t even consider a refund or even acknowledging the problem. They just defend themselves. Our driver didn’t know where he was supposed to be on day two- gave us 30 notice the morning of. They promise a lot, they don’t deliver and don’t care. Cathal O’Connell is a disgrace.

Hi Deborah, Thank you for your business and feedback. The scheduled (group) multi- day tours are offered at an economy price point where you can choose between budget hotel or youth hostel dormitory (student option). We also offer a private tour service where clients can select any accommodation they wish from camping to 5+ star castle hotels at market rates. Options are priced accordingly and guests are free to choose. Sincerely,

Unsafe driver, unresponsive company.

The first day of our tour went as expected and as advertised. Our driver Dave was pleasant and professional and we had a nice time. However, day two was the worst tour we have ever experienced. It felt unsafe and was not as advertised. It started at 7:10am when we checked into the warm Cork office 10 minutes before scheduled pickup time. We were directed outside to stand near the empty shuttle bus. We waited for over 25 minutes standing in cold 38 degree Fahrenheit/ 3 degrees Celsius weather. We then got into the cold shuttle bus where we needed to wear gloves and hats on the bus to stay warm. We stopped in Limerick only for paid restrooms and there was no chance to see the City (only 19 minutes total time including walking across street and up stairs). We barely had time to use the restroom or get water or coffee/tea. Based on the posted itinerary, we expected some brief time to see the city. We then drove past St. John’s castle. We had no chance to stop or take pictures and were unable to really see castle from the bus. Based on the posted itinerary, this seems very misleading as we did not really get to see the site. All this time and through the trip, the driver, Brian did not seem to know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. He stalled out on our journey. However, that did not stop him from driving over the posted speed limit and driving very aggressively throughout our journey. He even joked that he was going to “drive the shuttle like he stole it”. This was our biggest concern- safety. He was actually pulled over by the police for speeding on the way to the Cliffs of Moher and I could hear the police officer said that multiple cars complained of the tour bus illegally overtaking them as he was speeding, which I can confirm happened. Brian also ran over speed bumps at full speed through multiple towns and created a very uncomfortable / bumpy drive. My sister and I both felt sick driving with Brian and neither of us is prone to motion sickness. Needless to say, this was awful as we traveled multiple hours with him. The Police Officer continued to follow the tour bus for 10 minutes as I believe he was concerned for the passengers safety. We did not stop at Doolin for lunch, as was advertised on the posted itinerary. We went straight to the Cliffs of Moher for one hour and 30 minutes. After the Cliffs, we went to a Cafeteria style restaurant for lunch with limited options. The staff there was friendly, which was good because for the next two hours and 25 minutes we waited there and back at the Cliffs of Moher visitor center ( almost four hours in total). We did not go to Bunratty castle as advertised. Instead another Driver, Shay, took us to another Driver, Richard, for our return trip. Shay was very nice and apologetic. Richard was also very nice and a good driver. The rest of our trip was uneventful, as we made our way back to Dublin. Needless to say, this was a very negative experience and not what we expected from such a reputable and well reviewed company. I contacted PaddyWagon multiple times with my concerns, but they did not even respond. Would not recommend.

Great tour guides and a great time had.

Richard on the first tour to Blarney Castle and Alex on the second tour to the cliffs were both very Imformative and funny in diffrent ways. Their info and hostory rarely overlapped. They both ran a tight ship and everything went smoothly. The sites themselves were well worth seeing. On the second tour we met up with Richard at one of the rest stops and even though he wasnt our guide that day he told us he would be saving my family with kids seats that day. I dont think we met a person in Ireland that wasnt friendly.

Great

I really enjoyed this trip. I am glad we did the two day tour and got to stay overnight in Cork. We especially loved the Cliffs of Moher. The bus drive home was too long. We went out of our way to switch buses.

Don’t recommend 2 day tours

The overall experience was poor. The 2 day tour is not recommended. You are switched between 3 buses, which was not known previously. The hotel in Cork was extremely poor quality, hostel quality (spiders on the ceiling). The itinerary was changed compared to the description. We did not have the opportunity to see Bunratty castle and village due to bus changes and lack of time - not sure why it is on the schedule if there is no time to see it (if you decide to see it, entry free is NOT included in tour cost). Lunch at the Frantic Chef was 5 out of 10. Throughout the tour, we were not allowed to bring food on bus, and not enough time to grab and eat at the stops. Basically choosing between eating and touring! Overall, I would not recommend a 2 day tour. Rather do day trips, but note that the trip from Dublin to the south or west is a long drive so be prepared. The good…if you go to Cork, eat at Mayne’s (Pembroke street)…great place for cocktails and food. If you go to Bunratty, save time to grab ice cream and food, very good.
