Nasos was very knowledgeable and proud to share about the history of Crete during our 9.5 hours with him. The trip included a lot of driving but it was broken up nicely with stops to see The Olive Tree, Anoskeli winery, lunch at the entrance to Samaria Gorge, and finally Manousakis winery. The views of the mountains were incredible. We appreciated very much that we were picked up from our hotel even though it was outside the Old Town area. Great tour if you’re looking for more than just a winery day and want to learn a thing or two!

Exceptional experience with an exceptional guide. Vasillis has a great deal of knowledge about Chania, the history of Crete, beekeeping, and is an excellent story teller. We visited two beautiful wineries, learned how to taste olive oil, and the highlight was lunch overlooking the entrance to the Samaria Gorge. This restaurant was able to accommodate vegetarians and had a relaxed atmosphere. He is a skilled driver and we went on roads and saw views that we otherwise would not have attempted. We were not rushed and everything was meticulously planned and organized.

If you’re visiting Crete and considering a tour with Cretan Adventures - do yourself a favor and ask for Vas. This was hands down one of the highlights of our entire trip to Greece. Vas took us on an unforgettable journey through the White Mountains of Crete, and every stop somehow managed to top the last. From incredible wineries and olive oil tastings to visiting the oldest olive tree in Crete, the entire experience felt authentic, personal, and beautifully curated. Vas has been a local of the island for many years, and it truly showed throughout the entire experience. His knowledge of Crete, its history, culture, food, and hidden gems made the tour feel incredibly authentic and special. More importantly, he was simply wonderful - warm, welcoming, patient, and genuinely passionate about showing us the beauty of his home. He never rushed us, was always offering to take pictures for us, and made sure every part of the day felt relaxed and memorable. One of the absolute highlights was lunch at Restaurant Xyloskalo - and somehow Vas got us the best seat in the house overlooking the mountains nearly 4,000 feet up. The views were breathtaking, the wine was amazing, and the moussaka and Greek salad were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. This felt like experiencing Crete with a local friend who wanted to show us the very best of the island. Could not recommend Vas and Cretan Adventures more highly. This was one of our favorite days after spending two weeks in several Greek islands. A truly unforgettable day.

I bought this private excursion as an anniversary gift for my husband and we had the most wonderful experience! Nasos was an exceptional guide on our tour through Crete and two of its loveliest wineries / olive oil mill. He has crafted the perfect private tour filled with history and interesting information about Crete and Greece. He was incredibly friendly and funny, and has a sincere interest in getting to know his guests too. This was the highlight of our trip and highly recommend Chania Adventures!

My wife and I and another couple participated in the Jeep tour from Chania on 28 July. All four of us had a great time. Our driver, unfortunately I cannot spell his name, was very professional, friendly and informative. He told us he is a professional photographer and even used our cameras to make amazing photos of us. The stories were informative, the ride off road in the mountains was fun and lunch overlooking the gorge was our best meal in Crete and we have eaten very well. We would recommend this tour if you want to see different parts of the island and learn unusual facts.

What a great day! I now know everything about Crete with Vas being a great host. This was basically a private tour with my wife and I. Saw numerous sites, enjoyed two wine tastings, olive oil tasting, the most authentic Cretan lunch with a view of the Samarian Gorge to die for. Personalized service the whole way! One of the best tours we have ever done!

We had an incredible time on this tour. Dimitris was a fantastic guide, we visited 2 wineries but the highlight was definitely the drive to the Gorge and the fabulous view we had for lunch!

We had a perfect day with Nikolas taking us around the Cretan countryside. He was able to give us a lot of information about the history of the area and local life. All of the planned stops were well thought out. Lunch overlooking the Samarian Gorge was off the charts. Delicious food and the view was simply stunning. If you want to see the Gorge but not hike it, this is the trip for you. Highly recommend!

This was probably our favorite tour we did on Crete. Our tour guide George made the trip great, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Driving around the mountains was stunning with amazing scenery. The wineries were great and beautifully situated. I really enjoyed seeing all the old olive trees. Overall a great trip, very glad we chose this tour.
