Our tour guide, Yoreh, was amazing! His knowledge of the area and its history, combined with his passion for sharing it, made for a really great experience.

What an interesting overview of the city, its history and architecture! A lot of walking so be sure you are fit and able.

It was easy and rewarding to follow our guide because of his excellent communication skills and his perfomance. He was clearly committed to his subjects and to his hometown Rotterdam. In addition to delivering all relevant facts he was also a guide with his own judgement which made our tour all the more interesting.

Myself and 3 friends went on the 3-hour tour which covered a great variety, including history, architecture, and town planning. Even though I was brought up in Rotterdam, I learnt many new things. Yoreh knew his subject matter very well, was interesting and funny. He engaged with us rather than just talking at us. Communication before and after the walk was also very good.

We really enjoyed this tour, led by Elmer. Even though we were briefly rained on, the tour was great fun. We learned a tremendous amount about Rotterdam’s history, dating back to the religious leader, Erasmus. Elmer, who was raised in Rotterdam and is fluent in English, shared several great stories and insights into the city, supported by a number of historical photos and illustrations. We learned a great deal about how Rotterdam has evolved since it was bombed during WW2, the stagnation of the downtown “triangle” in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, and the rebirth of the city since the 2010s. Elmer is very personable and took the time to answer questions, even sharing conversations he had had with his grandmother about the Nazi occupation. Very interesting and informative. I highly recommend this tour.
