We travelled to Sri Lanka via Singapore from Perth, Western Australia the first week in Sept, as first time visitors to Sri Lanka, for a 1 week holiday. Our accommodation was the beachfront resort of Villa Thamburu near Bentota in the South West of the country, picked from a google search and did not disappoint. It was a handy base for activities we wanted to do, like a train trip to Colombo Fort and return same day, visited both the 'Brief' and Geoffery Bawas 'Lunuganga Gardens', both in the Bentota area. Another day a small bus trip took us to Yala National Park where we boarded a safari jeep which took us among the parks animals, including Elephants, monkeys, deer, water buffalo, crocodiles and the ever elusive leopards. Also did a day trip to the beautiful historic town of Galle Fort. Wherever we went there were visitors from many countries enjoying what Sri Lanka has to offer and contributing to the local economy. At the time of visiting it was the off season with the peak season not commencing until around Nov/Dec, however the lack of tourists didn't halt the service provided at Villa Thamburu, which was on point at all times. Our suite was beautiful with views over the pool garden leading down to the beachfront. The staff were excellent, always ready to assist and nothing was too much trouble. The resorts Al a carte restaurant was brilliant, even keen to assist with an occasional off menu request, and a trip to the local fish market to collect it. So in closing we can highly recommend a visit to our chosen area of our first visit, its wonderful people, bearing in mind Sri Lanka has a lot more to offer. If your travels take you to the Bentota area, we give the Villa Thamburu a huge thumbs up, 10 out of 10. Thank you all for memorable time. Russell and Glenice.

Our family holiday tour to Sri Lanka was given a huge boost when we received the services of Nuwan as Chauffeur / Guide when the original appointee withdrew his services. Thank our lucky stars Nuwan accepted at the last minute, and it took only a day to realise that we had more than just a driver through his professional outlook and great communication. The other attribute was his great sense of humour which suited us, as it set the tone for a fun time over the 15 days and simply made him one of our tour group. He was always on time and presented his van, affectionately named Rosie in pristine condition as we set out on the itemised daily event. Nuwan is a highly experienced tour guide who has an in-depth knowledge of the Sri Lankan culture, lifestyle and history. His educated commentary on various destinations and points of interest throughout our journey only enhanced his passion for his beloved country and gave us a fabulous insight too. Nuwan was able to accommodate any changes that we made to our itinerary and went above the call of duty to negotiate with our SL travel agent to ensure that we weren't disadvantaged in anyway. Every service he provided was in our best interest. Nuwan is now in the process establishing his own website and contacts within the travel industry to plan your holiday requirements. I for one will be using him when we plan our next visit to Sri Lanka and therefore would not hesitate to recommend his services to any prospective holidaymaker. Nuwan is the best Srilanka guide and driver one can hope for. He has great knowledge of most tourist destinations including the places which not many people know about. The vehicle was excellently maintained. Thanks again Nuwan.

We contracted our vacation with Nuwan and it was the best choice we could do. Nuwan has been the best guide ever, his van is perfect clean and so comfortable it make our trip so easy and it is an excellet guide, he knows everything about his wonderful country and he is a passionate of it. He took care of every detail and also is a good solver in front the little things that can appear in the way. He also get along so good with the kids and help everything to go smooth. For sure, if we travel again to Sri Lanka we will contact Nuwan, we have a friend in Sri Lanka.
