We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our 2-day Machu Picchu tour. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organised, making the entire experience feel seamless, safe and enjoyable. Communication throughout the tour was excellent, and the transitions between the different modes of transport were smooth and stress-free. Everything ran to schedule, and the timing of the tour was genuinely impressive. A special mention goes to our guide, Micky, who really made the experience exceptional. He navigated us through the trail expertly, maintaining a great pace and timing our arrival at the various rest stops and viewpoints perfectly. We often arrived before the other groups, giving us the opportunity to enjoy the incredible scenery and take plenty of photos without crowds in the background. It was clear that a lot of thought and experience went into planning the itinerary. Micky’s knowledge was another highlight. He didn’t simply tell us what we were looking at; he explained the history, significance and reasoning behind what we were seeing, bringing the entire site to life. His passion and love for Machu Picchu and the surrounding area were obvious, and he made sure we finished the tour with all our questions answered and an even greater appreciation for this incredible place. He also brought plenty of humour to the experience, and we shared some great laughs along the way. The hotel accommodation was also excellent, with a comfortable bed, good facilities and, particularly welcome after a long day of hiking, a great hot shower! Overall, this was an incredibly well-organised tour that allowed us to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about the logistics. We felt safe and well looked after throughout, and Micky’s expertise, enthusiasm and thoughtful approach made a memorable experience even better. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Machu Picchu. If you’re lucky enough to have Micky as your guide, you’re in excellent hands!

When we got off the train at km 104 from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the guide, Deivis, was already waiting for us, introducing himself immediately and giving us the explanation of what we were going to do. Deivis was very kind and attentive at all times, his explanations of the places we passed through were always quite illustrative and easy to understand, the times for walking and resting during the route were excellent, the fatigue was not felt at all and his recommendations of places to go to eat were very accurate, so there were no problems of any kind, 100% recommended

Though the first day hike was hard, I would highly recommend. Our tour guides were the best and made the whole experience memorable and extremely worth it. They were definitely a highlight of our trip to Peru by far.

Kenko adventures was a fabulous operator to book with. I had reserved a two day short inka hike well in advance and Elvis was able to secure us all the upgrades we needed including vistadome observatory train as well as Circuit 2 tickets for the second day. Day before our hike, we stayed in Ollantaytambo and Elvis did a whatsapp call with us to debrief schedule and expectations. On the day of the hike, we were promptly accompanied from our hotel to train station and our wonderful guide Jorge was waiting for us at the 104 km stop. It was just me, my husband and Jorge for the hike and he was able to perfectly pace me who was much slower and less of an experienced hike. He appropriately arranged breaks and provided me with hiking sticks. We had a delicious lunch at WinayWayna and Jorge was also great at taking amazing photos of the both os us as well as gave us wonderful information on the inka history. We had amazing views. The second day, Elvis accompanied us on circuit 2 and 3 and we also did a rainbow mountain tour with them along with a red valley hike. They are a small, locally owned company with excellent understanding of Peruvian history and very passionate about preserving Peruvian culture. Everything was arranged in a smooth manner and I had absolutely no concerns of hiccups. I would highly recommend them

We can’t commend KENKO Tours enough. Elves, who we coordinated the tour with was very helpful and very responsive getting back to us ti answer all our questions. Our stay at hotel Rumi Punku, in the heart of Cusco’s artist district was the perfect location to acclimate to the altitude. Our family of five, ages 71-37, took the short Inca trail to Machu Pichu. Henry, our seasoned guide, was absolutely fantastic. He had the heart of a teacher and wove the history of the Incas throughout the 7 hour hike the first day. The views were tremendous. We took lots of photos; Henry knew the right spots! The lunch we had on the trail was outstanding and fueled us for the last portion of the hike before arriving at the Sun Gate and then the ruins of Machu Pichu. The second day walk around of the lower half of Machu Pichu was a relief from the hike the previous day. The whole experience was tremendous. Thank you for being a wonderful guide.

We had an amazing time on the 2 Day Inca Trail with Camping. The hike was challenging but absolutely worth it, with beautiful landscapes, amazing views, and a great feeling of walking through history. Our guide was very friendly and shared interesting stories about the Inca culture and the places we visited. The camping experience made the journey even more special, and reaching Machu Picchu after the trek was unforgettable. Everything was well organized, and we felt supported throughout the entire trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a different way to experience Machu Picchu!

My husband, son, daughter, and son in law booked our trek through Kenko Adventures and they exceeded all our expectations. From detailed briefing they walked us through in Cusco to the final day of walking around Machu Pichu everything we experienced was organized and without any problems. If we had any problems before leaving the States or any problems with scheduling plans here in Peru, they immediately got back to us. Our guide, Henry, was outstanding. He not only was knowledgeable about the history of the area but he didn’t just give textbook facts he wove a story in how they were all connected. I would recommend him again. I should mentioned that my husband and I are in our late sixties early seventies and Henry kept a pace in which was certainly challenging but doable. The whole experience was one in a lifetime and would recommend this tour group.

This trip was one of the hardest and greatest things I have ever experienced. The Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was breathtaking, and there were many times I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to make it. Our guide, Henry, made all the difference. He was passionate about the history of the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, but more than that, he was patient with us when we struggled. I never felt rushed or like we were holding him back. His passion, the way he tells the stories of the Inca, and the care he showed for us and for the mountain made the experience something I’ll never forget. If you’re doing the Inca Trail, ask for Henry.
