jungle raft camp worst ever experience - the only place where you only get electricity and wifi is around the reception area so we had to leave our precious phones , to charge , near a desk forget about making yourself a coffee in the morning , there is no light, and even during daytime , your "room" is dark the toilet sits on wobbly planks , these planks stink of urine, and the shower , if you can call it that, sits above the toilet, cold water of course  the bed is hard and several sheets , even with a bedspread included  results in a very bad night sleep, so the only thing you can do, is strip the bed,  imagine 33 degrees and there is of course   ,no airco and make sure you do not fall over the bedding when trying to find the toilet during the night every room gets a musquito spray can ,says is all... and lets talk about health and safety , , smoking is not allowed, but the outside area is forseen with many kerosine lamps, that stink and easy to burn the place down, straw roofs do not go together, with kerosine lamps  , no phone in the room , you are damned in a medical  emergency, there are 2 lifejackets in the room  , it says, only use in an emergency , so there is a fire and your only chance is to jump in the river, which has in this season a very strong current ,in no time you could end up in bangkok breakfast and dinner are very poorly ,and please do not go to see the mon dance show , its just a clown show  conclusion , avoid where possible , and if so go to sleep with the musquito spray and wear the lifejacket ... just  in  case

The most incredible stay at the jungle rafts! The location was secluded and perfect, the tour via death railway and hellfire pass was so eye opening and interesting. It showed a side of history which is misunderstood, so it was great to see what happened and where! The Mon village tour was my absolute favourite, the people were beautiful and so kind!

Had to phone the tour operator to ensure I was picked up from my hotel as the options provided at booking are limited and do not include the major hotels, a phone call sorted it all out. The guides were excellent and had a good overall knowledge of the WWII history and were very open to discussions about other Signiant Australian memorial sites. Be prepared for limited internet and no electricity on the Jungle Rafts, it was a great night, but I was lucky my powerbank got me through. I found some of the non war history to be a little tedious and felt very much like filler. Overall, an excellent 2 days.

Honestly, I booked this tour to stay on the river rafts. But once we got to the museum, I found the history fascinating. My favorite historial site - Hell Fire pass. The Jungle River Raft Hotel was everything I hoped for - unique, unpretensous and calm. Loved the hammock on the back porch that was in deep shade and the way the raft gently rocked when boats went by. And a shout out to the Mon people that work at the hotel, especially Sam, my guide. I felt well cared for. A fabulous experience! Wish I could have stayed longer.

Everything was well organised, and the guide even rang my hotel and told them to organise a breakfast box for me as early morning start. You are kept moving through the activities and always fed and watered and it was just very easy as everything was taken care of. The hotel was amazing, make sure you take your bathers so you can jump in to the river and ride the current. Also, no electricity in the room which is a nice change, but I would recommend taking a headlamp, as they give you a torch but the headlamp so much easier. The hotel staff, the Mon people are so warm and friendly and were great hosts. I actually enjoyed the train journey a lot more than I thought I was going to. I did one night and was happy with that, but seemed most people stayed for two. I think both would be fine, and don't hesitate if you just want to do one. I came back to Bangkok happy.

The experience is a perfect mix of culture, history, action and time to rewind on the floating Hotel.

The starting tour was very interesting and informative, especially with the tour guide within the coach. After we got transferred to a new host/tour guide, Pat. He is such a energetic, funny person. I would recommend to go as that is just a part of the experience. In addition the rafts were such a nice change of pace from Bangkok.

A wonderful 2 days little weekend escape from Singapore, with some culture and history deep dive but especially with a wonderful gate away in the jungle and a warm welcome from the Mon village people. Thank you all for the insights in your culture and for the wonderful relaxing weekend!

Please note that there is no electricity in the room. It's very dark in the room. The available lights give low light. Location and decor of the resort is beautiful. Also swimming in the river is a great experience. We are 2 days guided by Pad, who is in the resort jack of all trades. Besides being a guide, he is also a Moon dancer and waitressed in the restaurant. He is extremely enthusiastic and knows a lot about Thai and Moon culture. He himself lives in the adjacent Moon village.

My partner and I booked the two days/one night options as part of 2 weeks in Thailand and we are so glad we did! Everything about this experience was absolutely phenomenal. Collection from our hotel was simple, communication from the tour operator via WhatsApp was consistent and helpful and the trip itself was just the right amount of activity and relaxation. There were 6 of us on the tour and it was lovely getting to know each other over delicious meals during the trip. We felt like enough time was given for each part of the tour for us to take something valuable away from it. Transport from and back to Bangkok was seamless and was with a variety of modes - from comfortable air conditioned minibus to the museum and River Kwai bridge, to the long boat that took us to our amazing jungle raft. The accommodation was utterly unique (be prepared for no electricity or warm shower). The room was simply beautiful, clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming staff, particularly Pat, who was enthusiastic, helpful and passionate about sharing so much information about the area, the Mon people and their culture and experiences through traditional entertainment in the evening and visiting the village the next morning. We thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants to see a very cultural and beautiful part of Thailand.
